78 30 beers of great beer on tap and a nice bottle selection. Hofbrau style food goes great with the beer. |
86 Very good food. Nice beer choice. |

It’s been over a decade since I’ve been to a Harry’s and I have never actually been to this particular one. Wow, things have changed. What I mean by that is the beer list has changed. They have not only a respectable beer list but a very good beer list. I didn’t notice if they sell bottles or not but there are quite a few empty bottles on display behind the bar. Judging by how many Bruery Reserve Society-only bottles there are as well as several Beatification bottles I can only assume that one of the locals (chswimmer, largadeer, etc) brings these in. Aside from the beer the place is about the same. Comfortable seating, a lot of old people, and the cafeteria line. Food prices are exorbitant but the customers don’t seem to mind. The service at the bar was quite good. I will be returning at some point. |
66 This place is kind of like a second rate south bay Toronado in that it has some good beers and the decor is dark and dank. Only with Mess Hall up front. Some of the food is good. Beer geeks are surrounded by people who like to get their grub on. |
96 Love the Hof! I don’t care what other say, the food is good, and the beer is even better! Hat’s off to Jeremy for turning the bar around! |
88 I am a really huge fan of Harry’s. The bar manager has done an excellent job at transforming this once old school eatery to a beer lovers destination. They hosted a handful of really successful events this past SF Beer Week that had crazy rare beers. I love it! The food is excellent and there are plenty of places to sit, eat and enjoy a great beer. My only beef with the place is that it takes FOREVER to get a beer when its busy! For some reason the line never seems to die down and the bartenders take a while, but that is nobody’s fault. Overall a very solid place. |
92 Very good selection of beers that are available only at the pub. Food was good fare for a brewpub (not the best I have had, but worth stopping to try). Service was excellent. |
98 Excellent beer! Tried New Belgium Tart Lychee. Great roast beef sandy....great hof Brau hostesses Audrey and Stevie. |
82 What a find! Crazy good food and tons of great craft brews on tap and in bottles. They had Pliny the Elder, Stone IRS, Pallate Wrecker, and lots of other greatness on tap. The servers and bartenders are some of the nicest I’ve ever encountered. This is a must visit if you are in the area. |
84 This is a great find; from the outside an unassuming german restaurant, inside it transforms into a beer lovers heaven, with about 20 taps and 100 bottles, dominated by the unusual. OK, so now that I am that much deeper into the craft scene I might reconsider that "dominated by the unusual" statement, but they do have good selection and rapidly rotating taps. You can buy the bottles to go as well, but there is no discount, so you are paying bar prices for them. They also have the occasional tap takeover or release party event, which can get very crowded. Unfortunately, when they do their regularly good service is out the window as the typically dedicate one or two people to the specialty taps, which have a long line, and a couple others to the regulars at the bar, who are getting great service while the event attendees wait. |
