Wanted to go here on several other trips to tampa, but my flights were never in terminal c and the won’t let you in otherwise. Finally hit it right on my return from hunahpu day ’16. Small typical airport bar setup. Didn’t try the food. They had two airport specific brews and other CC staples. They apparently had hunahpu on a couple days before. Got one last Jai Alai before I headed back to life without. Hard to complain.

Airport food court ambiance. Service is typical Florida ambivalence, and the bartenders push cinnamon whiskey shots on everyone who orders a beer. Other than the well-distributed Cigar City beers, there was a single IPA made on site with their small system, but it was very amateur in character, burnt malt and resinous hop. Nice enough to visit once to get a sense of the beer but there’s nothing here that I would drink regularly.

This was my first and last stop for RBWG 2015. Nice little brewpub in the C Terminal. Small selection of beers, mostly the regulars but they brew a few beers onsite. They have 6 packs. Breakfast was good. Good service.

Nice little surprise bar tucked away back in the corner of gate C. Had a sampler of 4 CC taps for $9. Not crowded on a Friday afternoon. Nice big pints for $7. Helpful and friendly and quick. Much better atmosphere than my hometown bar symon. Having those CC beers on tap was a plus. Also, they have a special CC brew, Jannus, made just for this brewpub, sweet.

I opened CCB. It was built the same time as Shula’s. You pay airport prices...no shock, but the menu design and recipes were solid. We put a lot of thought into it, considering we may need to make changes according to demand. At the time we had the core CCB beers, and ordered seasonals according to availability. I’ve never had a bad CCB beer. The food is well prepared, and we didn’t put cost ahead of quality. I don’t know what is going on there now. However, we did launch a game plan by design. Ongoing beer and food training. Pairing beer with food, etc. The unit is partnered with HMS Host, Tinsley Family Concessions, and CCB. It’s a great place to stop by before a flight, or on a layover.

(Visited 07/2014): Cigar City’s airport pub is located near gate C44.

There is a small bar and a few tables for seating, in the typical style of airport bars. The logo sign sticks out from faux brick walls, and there are hanging lights above the bar, and TVs behind it.

The airport location not surprisingly isn’t going to give the brewpub a run for its money in the variety department, but there are 5 or 6 Cigar City brews including a seasonal or less-common beer.

Service at the bar on a weekday was good. The bartender was amiable and knew the Cigar City beers well.

I did not have any food on this visit.

Overall I engage an "any port in a storm" approach when it comes to beer places in airports, so this is a welcome sight at TPA.

Visited during a layover on a Thursday afternoon. Located in a big open part of the airport across from gate c44. 6 Cigar City beers were featured on draft including two beers that were advertised as being brewed on site. Taster available, though seemed to be just for the regular lineup beers. Food menu is fairly typical airport fare, with a bit of a Cuban flair. I didn’t eat, but the food coming out seemed perfectly fine. They also had limited six packs to go, which is a very cool feature. I enjoyed my visit.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Ambiance is what you would expect from an airport terminal bar. staff was friendly, small selection, but two special beers on. Had the special airport beer which was pretty nice. Didnt eat. Would definitely stop again if in the tampa airport for whatever reason.

Visited on a return flight via AirTran in March 2013. Only accessible via Terminal C so you’ll have to use one of the airlines in this terminal. About 5 or so Cigar City beers and one of their ciders at the time I was there, including the airport exclusive Tony Jannus Pale Ale. Taster set was available with the Tony Jannus and 3 of their regular brews, they also have one beer brewed at the airport brewpub. Food was good, had the cubano sandwich which was pretty solid. Bartender was pretty nice and attentive. Definitely recommend planning ahead and getting a flight into/out of Terminal C as this seemed like the best airport bar at TPA. Would be nice if they had a few more taps for other Cigar City offerings.
