68 Not really a typical Irish pub. Two rooms, the one marked with "Main Entrance" is actually more like a dining room, but I entered through the more typical bar. Large bar surrounded by high bar tables and a foosball table. Large tap lost, all the usual better known craft suspects. Friendly service. Worth a look. |
68 The beer line-up here was much better than the name of the place would suggest, with around 40 taps and plenty of good choices. The decor is fairly standard for an "Irish" pub, and next to a policeman’s helmet over the bar there was a LED display counting down the days, hours minutes and seconds to St Patrick’s day. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

72 Beer selection has likely much improved since some earlier reviews: about 10-15 constant taps of standard craft and crafty pub beers and 10-15 rotating taps of local seasonals and special brews. They just had Bourbon County and Rodenbach Grand Cru on tap, if that gives you an idea. I’ve only had the fish n’ chips there, but it was really well done. |
66 Stopped by for lunch. Nice looking pub. Cool decor, plenty of seating. Much of the seating is right up close to the bar. Food was way above average for a pub. I got a steak sandwich with fries, and both were done perfectly. My friend got the fish sandwich and liked it alot. They had a pretty good beer selection. Of course they carried the usual Irish staples, such as Harp, Guinness, Smithwicks, etc. They also had some taps from Brooklyn, Highland, and to my surprise, Sweetwater! I had heard that they were coming to the Piedmont sometime soon, but this is the first I had seen of it. I got the Brooklyn IPA while I was there. Good stuff. Had a decent bottled selection as well. Saw some from Rogue, Young’s, Samuel Smith’s, etc. I plan on returning here, and I recommend you give this a try as well. |
68 A good bar with a decent selection of beers on tap. The atmosphere is great with outdoor seating in the back and frequent live music. The staff are extremely friendly but the place can get very crowded at times which can make it difficult to get to the bar to get a drink. Although I never personally ate there I have heard the food is great. |
60 Very cool bar. I was told that it gets extremely crowded by college kids on the weekends, but on a Wednesday night, it was nearly empty. Not a huge selection, but a few local taps allowed me to gain some ratings. Service was prompt and friendly. I really liked the outdoor seating behind the building. Pretty cool place overall, but not particularly great for big beer selection. |
70 Beer selection isn’t that great, thats why it got a lower score.
I like Tuesday night trivia. I won a couple of weeks ago. nice.
All the staff is friendly. food is great and interesting.
Good relaxed place to end a long evening of bar hopping or a good place to start. |
78 This is my favorite bar in Winston-Salem. Irish pub decor and atmosphere, dart board in the corner. Long bar and a half dozen high tables, plus a patio out back when there’s good weather. 13 taps (which I find odd for Irish...), which rotate seasonally, with mainstays of Guinness, Smithwick’s, Belhaven and Harp. Beer selection is decent, but pretty good considering the other options in town. You can get Bud/Miller in bottles, but why would you. They also have 30 different brands of Scotch, which can bring on the hurt. Very friendly staff. |
