Located on a trendy block. It feels old school inside. Bright and pleasant, friendly bartender. The beers are a little odd. New school in the sense that they don’t repeat recipes, but the beers themselves are basically out of the 90s. Beers were overall decent though none stood out. A little pricy at $23 bucks for 8 samples. Popcorn, no food. Not the best brewery in town, but worthwhile if you want ticks and it’s a block from a few good bars.

A brewery squeezed into a small space in Milwaukee’s trendy, not not yet too expensive, Bay View neighborhood. You can see the brewing space from the bar area, which includes a full selection of liquor to go along with 10 taps of District 14 brews. A wide selection -- though no porters or stouts in the middle of January seemed a bit off. Young, fun crowd. Bartender we had was prompt and polite but not particularly well-versed in the beers on tap. Tried the Dunkelnator -- a dunkelweizen that was on target with a nice, roasty chocolate and caramel aroma and sweet taste -- and Vendredi Noir, a Belgian strong ale that was oaky, smokey and dry. Free, freshly popped popcorn always a plus! Will visit again.

Right across the street from Sugar Maple, I mistakenly decided to get my tick on. Very cool interior, lots of wood and local artwork. Free popcorn is a plus as well as board games. We played some jenga. There were 9 of their beers on tap, but outside of the color you couldn’t have told them apart. They all tasted the same, watery, sugary and no carb. This is a place to skip, don’t even go for the tick.

This place opened two months ago. I’ve tried nearly every beer they’ve had to offer, and all solid craft beer! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, food is good (I had pizza, but I see that BBQ is now available), and a clean, modern space to enjoy your beer. I hear their bloody mary’s are fantastic, too. They do have only one problem, their beer sells out too fast. Guess that’s a good problem to have.
