58 /100 Stiftsbrauerei Schlägl (Beer Store) SCHLÄGL 1 The Stiftsbrauerei Schlägl offers a little bottle store, where they sell their own beer and some partner beers (Andechs and Engelszell). The ambience is ok. It's a shop close to the office behind the window. Service is fine, but you don't have to expect beer geeks there. Selection is ok, if you're just looking for Schlägl beer. Price is fine. |
92 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 Biergasthaus Schiffner is a place completely dedicated to beer. The owner Karl Schiffner is the first beer sommelier world champion, he is very well informed, knows nearly everything about beer. His son Felix became vice beer sommelier world champion in 2017. They brew their own beers, have at least six on tap. Their fridge is made of glass and they say, that about 3000 different beers went through it's doors. Service is fine, you feel always well informed. Ambience is good. Food is local and delicious. Food pairing is perfect. Value is ok. It's one of the most interesting places for beer lovers in Austria. |
100 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 Beer and food pairing at its best. At minimum 150 top national and international beers. Awsome food. New designed rooms for spending the night after beer tasting there. One of the best beer restaurants in the world! |
100 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 The best place to enjoy great beer from all over the world! Awesome! |
88 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 Mr. Schiffner was Austrian’s first Beer Sommelier World Champion and is therefore very beer knowledgable and also willing to share his experiences. We had a 5 courses food menu accompanied by different beers. Was a very good beer experience. He has a very wide beer selection comprising of Austrian beer specialities e.g. from Hofstettner and Schlaegl but he also offers international beer specialities (Brew Dog, Mikkeller,...). I recommend you stay in the hotel attached to this beer restaurant - very reasonable priced. If you are in Austria and a beer enthusiast a must place to visit. |
90 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 The best beer selection in Upper Austria and one of the best selections in Austria. Good food, friendly service and the well informed beer sommelier world champion Schiffner. A must location in Austria. |
84 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 Nice premise in the Uber-Osterreich country. House of the Beer Sommelier World Champion 2009. Nice selection, nice food indeed. |
100 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 fine location, really regional beers are available like Schlägl which is from the town, but also international highlights for instance from brew dog, good service the chief himself knows alot about beer and which food to combinate and his wife gisela ist really nice in serving |
96 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 A very large beer selection from Upper Austria but also from Belgium and the UK. You can learn a lot about beers from the very knowledgeable owner. He stirs the Bock beer with a glue stick in order to generate a caramelization. Great food and a beer dinner is offered. You can stay in a hotel which is part of this place. It is located close to several great Austrian breweries (Hofstetten, Schlägl). An absolut must for beer tourists. |
88 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 An outstanding place. I enjoyed an incredible 5-course dinner here, paired with 5 local beers. Outstanding beer selection as well. Service is quick and friendly. The owner is more-than-familiar quite a nice guy, as well. The only minor negative (for me) was the cigarette smoke within the bar/dining room. Other than that, this place was incredible. |
92 /100 Gasthof Schiffner (Restaurant) LINZER STR. 9 Beer hotel and restaurant between the villages of Aigen and Schlagl in northern Austria.
Amazing selection of local and rare beers (all the Westies, other trappists, local beers),
Owner/beersommolier Schiffner is thoroughly familiar with beers and brewing.
Offers a six course gourmet meal with wonderful beer pairings as the Bierkulinarium.
Great service, great selection, great food.
Also a bed and breakfast! That makes it a wonderful beer geek trip spot, as the owner will regale you all night and then you can sleep on premises. |
