“Really nice little bar and bottle shop at Bishop Aukland station. I think they've upped their game a bit since Danlo's visit with about 8 craft kegs and 4 handpumps. Penty of bottles and cans available too, all in fidges. Ever changign selection, but breweries like Cloudwater, Verdant, Magic Rock, Northern Monk and Siren were well represented on my visit. Prices were a little on the steep side, but this is still on of the best places in the area for good beer.“

“Beer shop located next to Bishop Auckland train station. Shelving & fridge setup with a reasonable selection of craft bottles & cans including local north east breweries plus afew ciders and gins & snacks. Also 4 interesting craft beers on tap & 2 local real ales on handpull available either for growler fills or to drink-in at a row of tables & chairs. Friendly staff, worth a look.“

“Absolutely average ’spoons, but the only real ale I found in the centre of Bishop; mind, I didn’t wander far. Typical ’spoons apart from the slightly warren-like set up. Staff were efficient on a busy Saturday night, customers from all walks of life. I had wanted to go to a place called Pollards, that I’d heard good things about, but I was a good 15 min walk away, and due to meet the wife who was at an event at the nearby castle.“

“Opposite the slightly odd looking Town Hall that occupies the centre ground of the large main square in Bishop Auckland. This pub also has a mash-up of rooms. It’s all open plan but there’s several defined areas to sit in. The front of the building has darker, more intimate areas that then open out into a skylit serving area against the left wall if you enter from the main entrance. Here you’ll find two rows of real ale pumps. There’s places to sit opposite this and as you venture further there’s more slightly darkened rooms to sit it as well as a conservatory type rear that separates the building from its attractive garden area at the rear. There’s an entrance to the pub via this area too.“
