“Very newly opened (less than a week) new brewpub by Gistgeest, there is delay in the delivery of the brewing equipment so brewing is still done at the old location. Nice terrace outside, very spacious inside. Plenty of locals visiting. 5 taps if I remember correctly, 4 of his and a guest tap from Hoogmis. Gistgeest aims at a broader public than beer geeks so the IPAs are sweater than I am used, not fully my thing but not all bad either. The brett beer on the other hand was excellent. Wide range of beers from witbeer to rye saison to saison with carrot tops. I was confused as to wether the beer was served in 25 cl (as menu says) or 33 cl as it appears to be which makes the price better / okay, I always expect brewpubs to be slightly cheaper, draft beers around 4 – 5 euro. Bottles bit cheaper oddly. Food is just crackers (homemade) etc. Alcohol free options available including homemade hop lemonade, definitely will pass by from time to time, cool place to visit. Friendly service.“

“Drink store focusing on alcohol free drinks, lemonades (including homemade, one I tried was terrible), soft drinks (including the Baladin ones) and alcohol free beers of which he has a bigger selection than anywhere else, big brands but also Vanderstreek and Mikkelleer ones. Opening hours are rather limited but he has online shop as well. Okay prices.“

“Old rating : New town brewery by a former full contract brewery. They still contact brew the large batches but they plan to start selling one-off’s brewed here in the future at the time of visiting. I like Cabardouche beers, solid standard BE beers & a few experimental Christmas beers. They had the whole range. Not a huge selection or anything but they have their whole range, good place & relaxing to be here. Nice place. Revisit: 2 beers available there & not available elsewhere upon visit. New rating : never bother anymore really, new beers aren't all that good, Borger Bottles is down the street. Whiskey is not bad but too expensive. Nothing wrong but nothing to really seek out either.“

“Spectacular place : the owner is not only hugely knowledgeable about what he has but he has also lots of beers (whole fridge full of hoppy cans, massive lambiek selection, stouts, imports which no else has in town), he also prices them lower than anyone else in town. You can drink there so I use it as a bar from time to time. As far as prices and beer selection go in Antwerpen, no one is even in same ballpark.“

“Located under a railway arch, it would be great if this place was the start of a local version of London's Bermondsey Beer Mile. It's pretty obvious that Bas has put a huge amount of effort into assembling the tremendous selection in the store right now. Interesting and quality beers from all around Europe, including from some very underrated breweries. Bas knows the collection well, and was able to assemble a box for me to take away of interesting and tasty things. You can drink in the store as well, but it is a bottle shop first and foremost, that's where most of the effort lies. Prices are very good, so your search for interesting beers doesn't have to drain your wallet. Another must-visit place in Antwerp.“

“The location has to be found - in Borgerhout, not exactly the most exclusive of Antwerpener boroughs. Under the nothernbound railway, at that. Yet, it is only short minutes from the Central Station, and - provided the Antwerpener tramsystem doesn't completely boggles you - easily reachable. And your trip might well be the searching, as hundreds of really interesting beers are waiting for you. In the present craftbeer galore, finding something new is not any longer hoped for, but counted on, but here you might find yourself confronted with those the others don't have. Rare beers from France, Ireland, Italy and further away await you, and don't hesitate to ask, the owner knows his stuff. The presentation might be a bit... haywire, but with a little help, or Untappd, you'll get what you want. I would dare to suggest that especially sours are the ones to search for here. And not unimportant, in expensive Antwerpen, the prices here are just that very little bit more bearable. There's more beside beer, by the way, explore the cramped place at your leasure! NB Cabardouche, Borgerhouts' microbrewer is only a couple of houses away.“

“Off the beaten track local - it is technically in Borgerhout, next to its former town hall, rather than Antwerpen - and breathing an atmosphere from a bygone age. Not only the panelling, furniture, no-table-service (our British visitors will feel at home immediately), decoration, but also the veneration of sports and cycling in particular will set the stage. That been said, it is actually pretty welcoming in character, and service (at the bar) is very friendly even to the occasional newbie. Spacious outside terrace. The choice might be less than in the classic beerspots, I bet you will find something new and certainly didn't expect. There are only six taps, two of which are changing, but even one of those keeps well inside the Moortgat portfolio. There are maybe a good 100 bottles, and there's always promotion of something peculiar. Not convinced? Try to find the beers from Mescan brewery next to Croagh Padraig in Mayo, elsewhere in Belgium! On my first visit, the promotion bottles came from a brand-new micro in Brussels. To find what is there, look around, as nineteenth century crayon is the way of advertising. Maybe one caveat, if you come for the beer, avoid cycling highdays...“

“Basic 1.5 hl microbrewery with a counter for selling the (available) beers, displayed at the only free wall, and, by clement weather - a long shot in Flanders - 4 basic tables to consume the production on the premises. Add to that that this venue is - LITTERALY - under the busy Antwerpener circular railway, and situated in the borough of Borgerhout, better known as Borgerocco by the Sinjoren, it is hard to imagine a less welcoming venue. AND YET IT IS! It breathes neighbourhood friendliness, no-nonsense dealing and, if you're interested, the brewers will be all too happy to speak in length about their beers, goals, expectations. Seen the worldwide collaborations in microbrewing, it might surprise at first that none but their own - not always fully available - beers are to be purchased, but given the fact that Borger Bottles, a top-specialized craftbeer shop is less than 100 m away, that is perfectly acceptable. Mind, both for BorgerBottles and the brewery, carefully check opening hours before venturing out. If you do, I'm pretty sure you'll find some never-had-before stuff waiting for you.“

“Cool little cycling themed cafe in the borgerhout neighbourhood. Don't except any rare ticks. Just a well curated list of Belgian classics. A true example of Belgian beer culture. Service is impeccable. Every beer from the proper glass. Rotating taps with (belgian) craft. Yes, it's off the beaten path if you are from out of town but well worth the tram ride from the centre.“

“Street corner local's place with an interest in cycling. The beer menu is not the largest in town but it's very well chosen. No table service with drinks being ordered and paid for at the bar. Definitely worth a look if in the area.“

“Pretty decent locals bar, but of a cycling focus. Would rate far higher with a more interesting selection, although what it has isn’t bad.“

“Great bar with an ever changing interesting selection of mostly Belgian beers and a decent permanent selection. Can be al little overcrowded on Friday and Saturday evenings but others might say this adds to the atmosphere. Friendly service. “

“Nice place with a well thought through beer list: a solid selection and always something new and interesting to be found (Bier van de maand).
Great atmosphere, good mix of locals and beer lovers. It can be quite crowded, but there is always some space if you don’t mind standing.“

“Very easy to find. Located at a nice looking square this bar has a spacious and nicely decorated interior. Mix of collage art flourishes, old beer memorabilia and cycling fare decorate the interior. There are plenty of chairs on the sidewalk. Prices are very good, lower across the board than usual. Menu is not big but well chosen with classics, some nice picks and specials (both of these were new to me). Service was definitely good. Background music was dubstep / lounge / … fitting overall. The whole place had a light agreeable hipster feel to it. Overall this was a bit like the average Belgian bar done 100 % perfectly which is something that a lot of places fail at. Definitely recommended for a beer or two.“

“Service by beerlover_ben when i visited . Nice , well thought-trough selection ( including the likes of viven , girardin , ... ) beer of the moment here was fils de papa at that time , a beer i never saw anywhere else . Buisy place , anr the popularity has its reasons ; prices are nice , service was very good and knows way to much in concideration to where he works . The bar makes me - as a bartender - pretty damn jealous . Very much space , some outside seating as well . Very clean . Not a place for tickers , but to enjoy a beer , this will def do ! Ask for Ben if you want a full explenation of the beer !“

“No Service you got to go to the bar and order yourself, but i don’t mind the beer is cheaper that way ! :D Nice medium sized bar, good amount of seats, lots of place to stand ! In the summer a small patio on the street. almost weekly some live band preformances. and also the big cycling games can be watched on the big screen, as the owner are big cycling fans. The beer menu isn’t big but cares only the good stuff, every month somethng special this can be either on draft or bottled. A lot of good vibes and great atmosphere. “
