62 /100 CROSS INN Went here in late October and the opening times were a bit patchy being out of season, possibly best to call ahead to check if you're making a special trip. It's a lovely rustic place nestled in a gorgeous wooded valley by a noisy stream. Didn't pay for the visitor attraction side of it; I just went to the shop which was bitterly cold - I pitied the friendly lady working there. They stock their own honey and mead (which they do in 4cl taster bottles), plus a couple of Scandinavian meads. They obviously also sell everything that they can think of getting honey into - jam, chutney, candles, soap, etc. Everything is quite pricey, but then you expect that with local honey. They weren't doing tasters when I was there, although apparently they often do. The honey and mead I bought were delicious, and I would go back and buy more if I was in the area. Nice little place. |
52 /100 CROSS INN Honey farm with on site meadery which enables you to look at the equipment used and briefly explains the process. The shop sells 8 different meads that they brew there and one beer which is brewed in Conwy with their own honey. Good to get some mead, however it isn’t cheap. |
