Dowlish Wake Beer Guide: Your Dowlish Wake guide to beer, beer bars, breweries and brewpubs

Latest reviews from Dowlish Wake

“Located in the remarkably bucolic English village of Dowlish Wake, all thatched cottages, red postboxes in front of centuries-old stone walls and other generic village features, including this old village cider barn. Only, it seems to have been modernised somewhat in recent years. The dusty old cider barn is there, now a modest museum, and the small operation seems to remain intact, but now adorned with modern branding, with a shiny new farm shop and cafe opposite. The shop's pretty good, there's a respectable selection of regional real ale bottles, as well as a few aisles of standard farm shop fayre. I honed in on an impossibly big traditional cornish pasty, which lasted me much of the day. There's also 6 of their draught ciders which you're free to pour samples of, with plastic jugs available for any you like. All Perrys bottles available to take out, plus some glassware, merch and ceramic jugs. Seemed most visitors here were happy to just enjoy a cup of tea outside amongst the apple trees. Nice looking place this.“
