“Nice pub. Friendly staff. Range pretty wide mostly because of their beer tunnel, connected with the shop next door. Worth while a visit after visiting the shop. Also starting point of Burg brewery tour.“

“Big bottle shop with great amount of beers. A lot of countries and a big assortment of Dutch beers from bigger and smaller breweries. Many not commonly seen and rare to find beers. Friendly staff. Parking in front of the shop is not very big. Prices are ok. Definitely worth a detour. Recommended!“

“Been there twice now, and again surprised by the huge amount of beers they have. (First time I came with a capitol arrogance checking whetehr they might have small-scale Dutch beers and was shocked they had 5 aisles full of m; went home with dozens new beers...). Good choice of beers; lots of NL breweries. Friendly staff; although they might come up with another gesture than a free beer at their pub, when spending 150 euro, when theu know you live 100km away.... They combine brewery, brewpub (with and automated underground beer selection system) and a beer store.“

“Parking right in front of the shop. Huge selection of local beers from small breweries from Netherland and Belgium. Nothing very special so I was a bit dissapointed since they have such a huge selection of beers. The selection of beers from the UK and scandinavia was very good and they also have a selection of american brews, but they where in general booring and too expensive. All beers where sorted by brewery, and only a few beers was refrigerated. Little or no help from the staff. In general prices are reasonable but if you want the few but popular stuff remember to bring a lot of cash. “

“Twee keer bezocht voor een hapje en een drankje, donker houten interieur met voldoende plek om te zitten. Bediening is redelijk vriendelijk en oplettend. Het eten doet denken aan een engelse pub. De selectie aan bieren is bijna onbeperkt dankzij de verbinding met de naastgelegen winkel. De prijzen voor het eten zijn redelijk betaalbaar, de bieren zijn soms wel wat steviger aan de prijs.“

“Never ever saw such a lot of different beers in one place. Prices not too high. If you like Trappist beers you will find very rare things if you go deep into yor pocket to spend the last money you have. Very good informed staff, helped me wit some sorts I didn´t know. Hope, I will go there this year again.“

“Visisted on a Thursday afternoon, right after opening. Large typical Dutch brown café style bar, lots of wood and beer ornaments, looks nice but also a bit worn down. Sat at their sheltered patio, which is faced to the main road, which is quite busy. Not the most attractive view. In the back is a large smoking area and biergarten, both enclosed and with a roof. 22 taps, not very exciting selection, but you can now also order from 2000 bottled beers they have at Burg Bieren Bierwinkel, next doors. They have tablets on every table where you can order the bottles. Well done. Service was effective. Would visit again when in the area.“

“Visited on a Thursday afternoon. Huge store along the main road of Ermelo. Few parking spaces in front of the store. The store itself reminds me of Belgian drankenhallen, huge warehouses with crates of beer on the floor, single bottles on the shelves above. Enormous selection of Belgian, Dutch (lots of small breweries) and American beers, some English stuff, and contemporary popular stuff from the Baltics. Well laid out, collabs are displayed next to both their brewers on the shelves, prices are decent. Spent about an hour strolling around ending up spending way too much money. At least I got a free beer at Hazeburg (the bar next door) for spending >€25 at the bottle shop. Only downside is that quite a few beers seemed to be near BB date, guess that comes with a huge range like theirs. Recommended when in the area.“

“behoort tot de beste bierwinkels in Nederland. Zeer ruime selectie, met veel leuke minder goed verkrijgbare bieren. De winkel is door het enorme aanbod niet erg overzichtelijk, maar dat maakt de zoektocht misschien nog wel interessanter. Ik werd er vriendelijk bediend en de prijzen zijn er redelijk. Deze moet je als liefhebber wel eens bezocht hebben.“

“Quite big store / brewery in a small town. Great selection of local beers, nicely displayed and categorized. Lots of American, British, Belgian and other beers as well. Prices are ok with rebates on some items. Staff will help if needed, and at least the younger personnel speak English. Well worth the visit if you are nearby.“

“Nice pub. Was very crowded when I was there. The service was very friendly but it did take some time because it was so busy. 10+ taps with not too many interesting beers, but a nice selection of bottles brought from the next door store through a tunnel. Great gimmick ;-)“

“Visited during the Burg Bieren Festival. It’s a very big place, with the shelves full of dutch mand Belgian beers, but also with a lot from other EU countries and the USA with a few odd country ticks in addition. I can say largest selection I’ve seen so far. Staff was friendley and politel, but not allways that helpfull, probably thanks the festival they had compromise on knowledge here and there. Prices range allover the place.. Some stuff is really cheap, but I’ve also seen a few beers priced way higher as any other store I’ve been so far. In general slightly below average. Clearly worth a drive.“

“After arriving here on motorbike, needed a drink and a toilet. Unfortunately no alcohol, so couldn’t try one of their 1500 beers on the list. BUMMER. Had a coffee, a chat with the lady and off to the next beer spot. Have to get back with other means of transportation.“

“If there is some time left after visiting the store next door I go inside and grab a beer. Smaller portfolio as the store, but you can still find a decent beer or two. Friendly service by the younglady at the bar. Decent food. Affordable prices.“

“I visited during the Burg Bieren Festival. I got quite a few beers and then I had to carry them around since the shop closes at 18:00 while the festival finsishes at 20:00. Anyway, quite a big place, with the shelves full of dutch micros and belgian beers, some english and american ones too. Very helpful and polite stuff, in spite of the place being super crowded during the festival. Okay prices, there are also beers marked for discount if it happens to be over their BB date. Definitely deserves a visit if you’re around the area.“

“Quite a large shops that reminded me a bit of De Hopduvel in Gent, BE. Great selection with lots of Dutch beers, but also some nice American and other-European brews. Prices for the American beers are a bit steep but that’s pretty common in the Netherlands. The prices for Dutch beers weren’t too crazy.“

“Made a stop at this cafe for some food and brews. Nice brown bar atmosphere. Mostly local patrons who didn’t seem to be there for the beers. Selection was nice, though a bit on the safe side, with lots of Belgian brews and a couple of enjoyable beers from the affiliated brewery. Had an excellently prepared burger. Will make a stop here again. Update: Revisited to try out the new mechanized system that lets you order beers from the 2000-bottle shop next door.“

“On the outskirts of the Dutch lands, but in (somewhat) the middle of Ermelo, on quite a busy street, there’s this beer store with the bar next door. Very big selection! I would say all Dutch micro’s are represented. Also a lot of Belgian beers and some beers from UK, USA, Asia and Scandanavia. Prices are quite cheap to normal. Maybe a little more expensive to a beer here and there but overall prices are pretty cheap to normal. Service is good, knowledgeabe, helpfull, with a smile and in for a chat. Loads of beers to choose from, perfectly displayed and mostly by types and/or brewers. On the head sodes in the "main" hallway you find new beers and extra cheapo’s! Even if it’s an hour drive, it’s worth it! Absolutely a great store! Recommended!“

“Ok, fair enough that the pub and the store are two separate entries (still weird the shop has two entries at the moment). Funny old brown bar located in Ermelo, a town that is about 5 times more crowded in summer compared to winter. Locals are not really beer enthusiasts: they mainly play darts and sing Dutch crooners and schlager. Bar has a bit unhandy high taps, so it’s not really cosy sitting at the bar. Nice patio though. And their beer festival is becoming better and better. Selection is ok, as they are provided by their shop next door. Some of their own brews available, as well as the ABT beer of the month. Ok pub.“

“Great place. Service is friendly and answer your question very well. 1200 Beers in stock. Bottles of almost all the dutch brewers, loads of Belgium brewers, the German brewers well represented and the well know american and European craft brewers. Dutch store so the tax on the beers make it not cheap, but the prices for the bottles are below average for dutch standard. Again great place! “

“Sells an excellent selection a Belgian and Dutch craft beers, Also bought some American ones here (Left handed, Anderson Valley, Flying Dog, Anchor). Though you want to really plan a visit (even when living in the Netherlands) because of the location, this is definitely one of the gems in the country.“

“Burg Bieren is a treasure trove with one of the best selections of beers I’ve seen. They have beers from all over the world but it was the extensive selection of bottles from small Dutch breweries that really drew us. There’s parking right outside so transport isn’t an issue if you’re travelling by car; the only problem we had was prioritising what to buy as they don’t take foreign credit or debit cards – a visit to the cashpoint before you go to the shop is recommended! The shop is in a bright and airy barn-like building with upturned parasols on the ceiling and an upstairs loft with just about everything a home brewer might need. The small brewery is to one side and has a wooden clad copper and two fermenters on display. I think it can also be accessed from a kitchen area in the shop which looked as if it was in use for weighing out ingredients on an old fashioned set of scales. (Last visited 1 October 2013).“

“Shop cum warehosue type affair. If you are looking for a huge range of beers from Dutch micros it’s hard to think there can be too many better places, if any. Also lots of Belgian beers and other international stuff, although I can’t say I looked at them at all. They now advertise over 1200 beers. Parking right outside. Helpful and friendly staff. Prices were reasonable but not the cheapest. If you are a visitor from outside the country, make sure you take plenty of cash as they don’t accept credit cards. Otherwise absolutely top notch. You’ll also get vouchers for free beers (including those from their own brewery) at the bar next door but I’ve never managed to use them as the bar has not been open when I’ve visited the shop.“

“Tucked-away shop in slightly remote part of the Netherlands. Impressive beer selection (over 1’000) - one of the best in Holland. Covers wide range of Belgian and Dutch beers complemented with a few US and British beers. Unfortunately, slightly expensive.“

“Strange I didnt rate this place yet? It’s most likely renamed, merged, deleted or whatever. Anyway, decent place. Large warehouse with good showing of the bottles. Big selection of belgians and lots of local Dutch brews. The occasional obligatory US or scandinavian beer. No rares or whales. But selection of Dutch brews is outstanding. Decent service. Prices are very reasonable. Good shop.“

“We visited here on Tuesday 2nd October 2012. I must say thus place has a mightily impressive selection with beers from the United States and the UK complimenting an already hugely impressive Belgian & Dutch selection. The USA beers featured Lost Abbey and Great Divide along with a larger selection of well priced Anderson Valley and Flying Dog beers. The Emelisse selection was particularly good but then so was Brewdog with Tactical Nuclear Penguin and Sink The Bismarck on the shelf alongside more familiar beers in the range. Prices were also excellent and the layout of the shop was also well thought out and nicely done. Beware that Credit Cards and also Visa not accepted, shopping in many places in Holland tends to be very frustrating for this reason. I had to leave my beers on the counter and go to an ATM to arrange payment in cash. Please also check dates on beers, I didn’t and have now noticed that the Great Divide Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti is past its date by 2-3 months, not a huge issue with this stout but if an IPA I wouldn’t have been happy when paying over 11 Euros, otherwise this is an excellent place and if in a larger place such as Rotterdam or Amsterdam it would be better known and likely the top of the tree.“

“I did not know what to expect the first time I visited this place. I was really amazed about the diversity on all fronts. They have everything here you could possibly dream about when you are a beer fan. They brew their own beer (5 types) , you can enjoy it in a bar with 14 taps (5 of their own beer, the rest from other breweries). There is also an impressive beer store with 750+ different beers from all over the world and amongst them is a big collection of small Dutch breweries you probably never heard of before. On top of that all the people who work here are beer lovers to and are really friendly! Will recommend! Aanrader! “
