The decor is really smart, very welcoming with lots of decent, comfy seating. 3 handpulls with beers from local breweries and 3 keg beers from Freedom on offer. Beer quality excellent, service was very friendly, prices good. One of the best Micropubs I've been too and definitely worth getting off the train for a visit. Highly recommended.“ |

Since its refurbishment in late 2011, whilst the emphasis has been much more food focused, the number of pumps has risen to 17 with the majority dispensing guest beers all in excellent form. Was the CAMRA Champion pub of the North West in 2013. Much to my great surprise, whilst finding somewhere to sit and drink beer has become somewhat difficult at busy times, this previously wonderful pub has become even better.“ |
