“Stammhaus der Galway Brauerei. In der Nähe der Strandpromenade. Sieht von Aussen klein aus, ist Innen aber ziemlich groß. Ca. 15 Taps, davon 7-8 eigene Biere. Fast nur Specials. Gibt alles Biere im Flight. Sehr gutes irisches Essen. Pflichtbesuch an der Westküste!“

“Small kiosk/ convenience store with a decent selection of local crafts in between all the Cadbury chocolate bars and crisps. Decent service, but atmosphere is a bit lacking.“

“Excellent place in Galway. A really good place to go for people who like proper beers and atmosphere was more craft beer like then regular pubs. 10+ beers from the local Galway Bay Brewery which wqs quite excellent with both their hoppy beers and stouts. Would love to visit again.“

“Nice traditional pub in the centre. Not much to offer though beerwise. Best beer was Open Gate Citra IPA and other beers were just regulat stuff.“

“Craft beer/pizza/sports bar in Galway, which has a strong line up of local craft beers which range from local White Gypsy and Galway Bay through to the typical Irish macro 'crafts' like Galway Hooker. Venue features TVs showing major sporting events and there's a good menu here featuring some excellent stone baked pizzas. Service decent and gets very busy at weekends.“

“My fav spot in Galway. Dark long bar craft beer bar with a slant towards German and Belgian style beers alongside local brews. Tap line up features White Gypsy, Galway Bay, Steigl, Crooked Stave, Weihenstephan and behind the bar is a very good whisky collection. Service is very friendly - really cute American girl and Swedish dude who knows his whiskies. Also do really good cocktails. At the front they have a guy working a grill and producing some awesome gourmet American hamburgers. Food is highly recommended but high calorie! Very buzzing atmosphere on Fris and Sats.“

“In terms of selection this is the best craft beer location in Galway. 21 taps, decent bottle range of international stuff and a fairly good selection of whiskies behind the bar. Venue is small, typical craft vibe with wooden tables, craft stickers and logos on walls, kind of craft punk atmosphere. Service is very friendly and they give you tasters. Line up, as in all venues in Galway is mainly Galway Bay. At the end of the week in Summer many people come here and sit outside by the river, so it has quite a buzzing vibe.“

“Restaurant seating in front then a long bar. In back is a sports room with pool, games and plenty of seating at tables and benches. They have 6 Galway Bay beers on tap, the rest being a few ciders and macros. Good food. Service is average, I had to flag her down for everything we needed but was nice.“

“Good shop with plenty of Irish craft beers on sale. Right around the corner from the Salt House. Picked up a few street beers here as I walked around Galway. Prices on par with other Irish places, so not exactly cheap.“

“Cool and boisterous place in Galway. A bunch of Galway Bay beers on tap, which were OK, and some more interesting stuff. Great service and great vibe, with live impromptu music when I was there on a Tuesday night. Friendly patrons. Decent bottle selection as well.“

“A specialist food and wine store with a selection of over 180 craft beers, most of which are Irish craft however there are a few internationals. Prices are a bit expensive however the outlet offers the opportunity to peruse a good range in one place.“

“Essentially a large pub with restaurant like seating up front, a long bar and a rear room with TV and a pool table. Of the 26 taps, only six were Galway Bay brews and one a cider, the rest being majors. There is no micro-brewery on-site as increased production has seen it move.“

“There are sixteen taps of which eight are "craft" (ie. mainstream small Irish brewers), five majors and three cider. One of the craft is their own brand. Beer prices are Galway standard (€4.80 - 5.70/pint). Food is available only in the bistro and is expensive for what you get.“

“With a dark and mood lit interior, this is the place to go for craft beers in central Galway. The layout is restaurant style with many small tables and there are two levels to the bar. It has a total of about 24 beers, all of which are craft, and there is no Irish main-stream craft either. Food is funky street-style and is quite tasty. Well worth a visit.“

“This is a moderately sized pub and their claim to fame is that they have 24 taps, of which about half are mainstream craft type beers. Craft beer prices are Galway standard. The service was OK however the bar staff was somewhat unfriendly, as were the few patrons. While the range of beers is OK, there are better pubs in town.“

“Currently 3 large coolers full of craft, one of which is international. Mostly Buxton, Omnipollo and Mikkeller. Additionally a couple of shelves of larger, 20$+ bottles that I did not have time to investigate. Worth a stop if in town.“

“Large indoor seating area with a comfortable nook or two. We took a couch nestled in the corner by a shelf of books. Fairly quiet during our visit on a Monday night. Nice range of offerings, including some fairly creative ones. (Like a sweet potato, black bean, quinoa burger.) Waitress was not exceedingly helpful at listing all the brews on hand so I just went up front and picked what I wanted for my flight. Nice stop though.“

“Spacious place with an impressive tap list, which unfortunately did not match at all what they had on tap, as they were just in the process of changing kegs. The bar manager and I were not really able to communicate efficiantly, which I will accept some blame for. However the ladies in the bar were really service minded, and managed to provide some good local stuff amidst the confusion. Good work, ladies!“

“Packed with people and really noisy with a young-ish crowd. The menu was of course dominated by Galway Bay beers, which always has underwhelmed me. While the bartender did a good job trying to get ordersm we had a quick one and moved on. Next time in Galway I need to visit at an earlier hour...“

“Awesome location. Been there 4 times while in Galway. Untappd verfied location so check their menu over there. A little off Galways main street it is not as busy and touristy. Great atmosphere. One room, two levels, two tap lines. Many bottles are presented on shelves and those are supposed to be in the fridges aswell. They do have a box with some board and card games, so might see groups playing jenga and having a beer. Great service aswell. They do make some burgers. I didnt tried them but they looked quite juicy. Absolute recommendation if in Galway.“

“There are definitely better pubs to go to in Galway. I just went in to try the beer brewed for them which was fairly average. Big place. As it was the night after the Hurling final it was really crowded and the screens were showing a replay of the match.“

“15min busride from Galway centre to the west. Located close to the strand promenade. Large location. First room is mainly restaurant sitting, then follows the long bar, afterwards you enter a large room with a big screen and long tables, at the end of this room stairs lead to an outdoor area. I did beer flights to try all their beers and it was great. Worth the short ride.“

“The place to go if in Galway. Associated to the Galway Bay brewery so approx. 10-12 taps with their beers. Guest beers on tap and full fridges. Place is quite small but with an awesome ambiance. Excellent service.“

“Where is all started on the West coast. A large gastro-sports bar with the full range of Galway Bay ales including experimental ones. Out at Salthill - the part of Galway City beyond the traffic jams. Great bar area but then it’s that Sports-gastro bit. The former takes the eye off the latter. Too much hi-cal stuff not enough delicately nuanced stuff, or vegetables.“

“Visited in the middle of winter in 2014. Publican let us in early. Visited twice after that. Great beer on tap, the Galway Bay beers were great. Surprised to see a lot of America stuff like Sierra Nevada there too. Loved the big peat fireplace, it was very welcoming that January.“

“Great craft pub in Galway owned by Galway Bay Brewery. Small, fills up quickly on Fridays/weekends, can get loud, but it has a nice atmosphere. Good selection of local and international craft beers both on tap and in bottle. If you want to find craft beer in Galway, this is the place to visit.“
