68 /100 Bottle Shop (Beer Store) OLD MASONIC BUILDINGS Off licence a few yards from Penarth railway station. Primarily a wine merchants but did have a few shelves of well-chosen beers, with some decent Welsh micros, the better English craft brewers and a few German, Belgian and US brews. I was pleased to pick up Leipziger Gose. Good. |
66 /100 Bears Head (JDW) (Bar) 37-39 WINDSOR ROAD Small but pleasant enough Wetherspoon pub in the attractive resort town. It’s on the top of the hill inland from the seafront areas and attracts ifs fair share of locals as well as visitors in season. The furniture and decor offer only the regular look for this chain, but it is no less of a place to relax, whine or dine. Real ales available on two pumps at the bar. |
62 /100 Merrie Harrier (Brains) (Bar) PENLAN ROAD, LLANDOUGH A large pub, more food orientated. 4 Brains ales on, OK if you are close by. |
