| 88 /100 SANDGRUBE 1A “Taproom of local brewery with a good balance between traditional brewery paraphernalia and modern clear design. Whole production of the brewery on sale for bargain prices plus most of the beers on tap. The portfolio is a healthy mixture of classicals and interesting (surely NOT unimpressive to me!) attempts to go into "craft beers" - pale ale with herbs or Kastanierbier are not to meet every day in Austria. If you are lucky, you can chat with a brewmaster who works on the kit well visible behind the bar. And all this in a dominantly wine-making region! The location at the edge of the small town of Gols is worth a walk, wine kellers or Heuriger on the way are plentiful.“ |

| 68 /100 SANDGRUBE 1A “The place is a mixture of a brewery, a bottle shop and a pub. The brewing equipment is visible in the building right behind the bar. They have 7 taps, all with their own beers. Besides beer you can also buy some other products they make like whiskey, distilled beer, shampoo and fruit syrup just to name a few. For take away the prices are reasonable. It’s not meant to hang out in for a lot of time, more like a bottle shop where you can sample the beer before buying. Check it out if you are in the neighbourhood.“ |
