“Second time on the 2023-09-08. Great selection 9 on tap of Stigbergets brews this time 2 guest taps. Full selection of odd and new cans in the stuffed fridges. Food looks good. Located in the old brewery area, wee but rough but laid-back. Clam area in Göteborg a wee walk from the main road. Great views on the patio over the river.“

“Cozy place with broad and quality selection on tap. Didn't even check the bottles. The guys at the bar really know their stuff and are happy to recommend something. Samples go as low as 0.2 so you can easily try a few. Only downside is the prices which I think are high even for Swedish standards (expect 60+ SEK for 0.2!).“

“Nice new bar and brewery in the city center of Gothenburg. Maybe 15 min walk from the central station. More or less an Poppels Brewpub. Good tap menu and a fine bottle selection. You will easily see the brewery at the end of the bar. Huge thanks to Richard for showing us the brewery and some tasting. Also possible to eat here. Highly recommendable “

“Modern and spacious new place, with efficient AC. Pretty busy during lunchtime. Long line of Poppels stuff on draft, and in particular the in-place brewed pilsner lagered in big wooden vats visible from the restaurant. Some tables even had their own taps for this beer. It wasn't that great though (and very expensive), with way too much fresh oak notes. Food was very good. Very nice and friendly service.“

“They got everything just right at this place; 16 taps, good selection of bottles and cans, beer flights, friendly service, delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and even great music played at our stay. Corner place divided into different rooms with the serving bar at the front. Located in the harbour quarter about half an hour walk from the Central Station. Mostly Swedish beers on the taps, including many microbreweries that were new to me. Had a very well made fish 'n chips dish, and two beer flight, four 150ml glass in each flight. Enjoying music in the back from Twisted Sisters, Guns N' Roses, Crowded House, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, a-ha, and Deep Purple among others. Popular by all kinds of people. Perfect beer lovers place. “A welcome, friendly, and cozy medium-sized place not far from the trendy Haga district in town. 14 Swedish ipas on taps at my stay, after they just have had a dry & bitter ipa event. Well stocked beer collection on cans and bottles. Comfortable outdoor seating in front of the entrance. Their draught beers can be bought in 200ml amounts. Fair prices. Knowledgeable service offering tasters of their beer. Food options. (Visited 09.08.2022).“

“Corner place with outdoor seating at both sides. Brown pub with a long bar and room. Decent range of Swedish beers on a few taps, and quite many in bottles and cans. No beer flight, and their draught beers were only served in 400ml amounts. The service was not great, to be polite.On the other hand, they played great music during my stay from Big Brother and The Holding Company. There are many great pubs in this part of town, this is not one of them. (Visited 09.08.2022).“

“On my visit i August 2022 they had in fact 1125 beers to choose from, 565 of them from Swedish breweries. And I found what I was looking for, beers from a few new microbreweries in Västra Götaland. Quite large, airy room with bottles and cans on the shelves sorted after beer styles. Easy to move among the shelves. Great service, friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. Located in a shopping mall in Nordstan, just a few minutes from the train station. First place when entering from Kanaltorgsgatan. Fair prices. (Visited 09.08.2022).“

“For me it is always a pleasure to visit a BrewDog Bar, and this one was no exception. 22 taps, half of them from guest breweries, a few Swedish craft breweries and a delicious brown ale from Northern Monk among them. And, of course, a good range of new and old favourite BrewDog beers. Beer flight options. Excellent service offering tasters of their beers. The place is spilt in different rooms, colourful decorated, and with chesterfields chairs here and there. Small patio outside. Located in a peaceful part of Kungsgatan, and within walking distance from the train station. (Visited 8/8-2022).“

“Visited twice during a few days in Göteborg in early August 2022. The place is located in the upper part of the busy Avenyn street, about 15 minutes walk from the train station. Should be easy to spot on the left hand side walking along the avenue from the central station. Outdoor seating in front of the entrance into a room with long wooden benches and tables. The serving bar is located to the rear of the room. Has got a good range of mostly Swedish craft beers on taps, cans, and bottles, some of them from local microbreweries. Their Swedish food can be recommended. Service was friendly and, let say, a bit intrusive. Busy and popular place at our visits. (Visited 7th and 10th August 2022).“

“Another Ölstugan Tullen instance in a brand new and modern building in a rapidly developing area. Prette modern and nice interior, very spacious, and with a large outdoor area as well. Standard Tullen food and beer selection. Quite okay bar for locals, nothing to travel far away for.“

“A nice selection of beers and the "potion" drinks are worth a look as well. I should mention the potion drinks are around $16 USD so maybe one for the novelty. The food is top notch as well. Didn't get the bartender's name but he was good for a few laughs.“

“Far and away the best beer bar I saw on my European vacation. There were easily 150 beers in this place. The underground atmosphere was spectacular and the bartender was friendly. All kinds of nook and cranny areas to hang out and chat as well as seating at the bar. The food was good too.“

“Central, beautiful location with a nice patio. Good service. Makes its own beers. The one (1) beer of theirs they had on tap is the first beer out of 13000+ I've reviewed, I think, that managed to het the "baby vomit" off flavor found in some beer off flavor kits. And yet was released and/or kept on tap and sold for a full price. Some potential could be seen underneath, but that shows the care they have towards their beer. The rest was Kopparbergs stuff, actually at least one uncommon beer of theirs, but I really wasn't about to risk getting another beer here. Someone or some people here are not doing their job properly, likely on a higher level. This has huge potential, they don't reach a zilch of it.“

“Of course I would and up in a tank PU place in Göteborg. But unlike plenty in Czechia, this one was worth it, by virtue of having many other beers that are not PU-adjacent, hah. Located in a striking older building in the middle of a ton of construction work, and with a lovely patio, they got the retro look very well on the inside. A lot of people, workers from the construction sites and people in suits going in for lunch, but we didn't partake here. Didn't have PU either (I think it was 2 days old, which is 1 day more than I go for, being spoiled... and I'm not paying for that as a tourist in Sweden FFS). Buncha craft stuff, including Maria Trilsk and Casual - which is cool, some more "mainstream" craft as well I think which we didn't go for. A place I'd probably go to here and there if I lived in the town, and could be interesting to visit even for beer tourists for the local craft!“

“Old Novotel review, still valid;) - from 2009 oct the 8th One of the best views in Göteborg, nice panorama view over the riverside. A few not so interesting beers on tap. But more dark ones, especially porters on bottles. Some really old Carneigie 1994 (perhaps older in the catacombs). The hotels is standing host for the yearly Porterfestival, this year (2009) - the festival is the 14 nov (pretty soon :-)). New info 2021: The biannual Porterfestival was held yesterday 20211113 - great as usual. Closer to Xmass, there will be Christmas table with loads of fish, scrimps, craw fish and what not.“
