48 /100 Rumors( Marriott) (Bar) AGA KHAN ROAD, SHALIMAR 5 I usually avoid this hotel and others like it in Pakistan, because they have a tendency to explode. I like the smaller guesthouses in Pindi, or the stalwart Pearl Continental. But anyway, this place has alcohol, so it’s worth a peek. Good service, of course, and the food is hearty, filling and decent. |
50 /100 Rumors( Marriott) (Bar) AGA KHAN ROAD, SHALIMAR 5 This place is nothing special outside of Pakistan, but one of the very few bars outside of the diplomatic areas, all of which have limited access. They have 4-6 beers all in bottles or cans and the only bar in Islamabad that I could find that has the local Murree beers. It is also pretty much the only real bar in Islamabad. Also in the side of the Hotel is a beverage shop selling the beers by the case on the street but only the Murree beers are there.. |
58 /100 The French Club Diplomatic Enclave (Restaurant) DIPLOMATIC ENCLAVE (;OPPOSITE UN CLUB); G-5 Well beer is very hard to find in Pakistan. It can be found however. The French Club also known as Club 21 has the best beer selection I have found in Islamabad. They always have 5-10 beers and they change as to what they can get. The club itself is hard to get to since it is in the Diplomatic Enclave. Not easy for everyone to get into.
Very much worth the trip while here. |
