Bunny Hop (Bar)
19 CROMFORD ROAD
“The Bunny Hop is a Micro Pub on the outskirts of Langley Mill. To get here you head out past the railway station, head past a retail park on your LH side and continue until you get towards a McDonald’s restaurant there is a left hand turn just before here and Bunny Hop can be found on the left on a corner next to a Brazilian Delicatessen which sadly was closed owing to the issues the night before (see below) and not knowing when they could access the store. There had been a number of road closures following a stabbing near McDonald’s the night before so this was all the talk around here today fortunately it wasn’t too serious.

The Bunny Hop is painted green on the outside, inside it is quite busy in term of appearance with the usual stuff such as pump clips adorning the walls, some flags of St George were strewn around (it is St George’s day tomorrow). The bar was on the left hand side almost under the rise of the staircase and seemed to be quite cleverly constructed from repurposed pallet wood. In fact looking around this place it looked like the owner(s) was a dab hand at DIY, outside was a covered area all hand-built. We sat outside and chatted to a couple of locals and the owner who was applying more St George’s garlands out here as they had a Madness tribute band here in the back garden tomorrow and over a hundred tickets sold. It was a really friendly place and looked to be a really great community asset.

The beer choice was quite good with one or two local and local’ish’ offerings with the likes of Abstrakt Jungle (from Langley Mill) and Merrie City and Fuggle Bunny from Wakefield and Sheffield. Beer quality was very good, beers were in really good nick, tasters offered. This was a really lovely little find and if in the area we’d definitely drop by again. “
