64 /100 PASTA IELA 1 I kind of remember that I already entered this place here already, but RB being RB I guess. Anyway, not too farm from city center. You can take tram here or you can walk. Nice place, friendly staff who knows something about beer. They do food here as well, but I was already full and didn't tray it, but aromas were nice. |
80 /100 KUĢINIEKU IELA 5 Bar with a nice vibe in what we might call hipster area of Liepaja? 10 taps and tens of cans for drinking here or take away. Very friendly staff. English spoken. Will come back. |
82 /100 KUĢINIEKU IELA 5 Nice basement bar, with tables outdoors too. 10 taps (including a lager and a mead), 4 of them Labietis on my visit. Decent range of styles but missing a stout/porter. Plenty of bottles/cans but they aren't really visible from the bar so can be difficult to choose. Prices were reasonable, about 4 EUR for a 0.5 l serving. |
76 /100 KUĢINIEKU IELA 5 Finally, great beer has reached the City of Winds too. Small basement bar, very minimalistic interior, 10 taps, decent amount of bottles. Since this place operates in cooperation with Labietis from Riga, several of the taps (3 at the time of my visit) are always occupied by this brewery; the others featured nice domestic and foreign selection. The interior is bare brick walls and concrete, with angular wooden/steel furniture. At first it didn’t make a cozy impression at all, but after a while I got used to it and actually found it to be rather cool and fitting. Service is very friendly, and competent enough. The only drawback I found was that the bottles are lined up behind a glass window behind the bar, so one can’t really have good look on them. That would be ok if there was a list – but, sadly, there isn’t. |
