“Visited for a couple before the races. Just the job--a micropub-sized bar with an old fashioned decor that was none the less all clean and pristine. Beers were both excellent and the service was smart and beer-aware. The only incongruity was a TV screen above the bar, showing sport. But before a race meeting this seemed perfectly acceptable. Not far to the race track from here, so I'd recommend it to racegoers and beer drinkers alike.“

“Visited on Sunday 9th July 2017. Back street boozer with basic front bar and smaller Snug to the rear. Majors on cask ales and wines. Scottish brews alongside four hand pulls offering Oakham beers. Nice friendly vibe and my beers were fine. Proper pub feel to the place.“

“Traditional wooden paneling in a welcoming bar, very well kept cask. Multiple Scottish CAMRA pub of the year.“

“Just down the road from my flat! Not the best selection compared to places in the centre but it is well priced and you occasionally find some gems.“

“Small locals bar with around 6 casks on - variety is fairly limited but good if you like Green Devil! Has a festival once a year with some interesting beers.“

“Beer is always served in top condition. Range needs to be improved as too many of the same hoppy beers are served usually from the likes of Oakham.“

“I visited this pub just 2 weeks after it opened and walked in around 2pm in the afternoon to find it full to the brim! The barman told me this was because it was ’the new plaything’ for the locals! I ended up on the only table in the reception area entrance of this cinema conversion completely away from the atmosphere of the main drinking hall set back in the building. This was a large open space and brightly lit with the bar along one wall and the kitchen against another with an open plan design so you can see it being cooked - all part of the new theory in Wetherspoon design to show you that they don’t just stick it in a microwave before serving. Easily found on the main street through Musselburgh, this has the usual menus and selection of ales over a couple of rows of pumps and a nice outdoor area at the rear.“

“Small tradtional Scottish pub 1/2 hour bus ride from Edinburgh City Centre. 6 quality well-cared for cask ales on hand pump served by a man with passion for beer. Very large high quality TV above the bar helps make the place a great one to sample good beer.“
