Hopper (Bar)
43, COURS GAMBETTA
“That'S one very nice beer pub, that I would not have expected in France, but it's proof of a recent development in favour of beer lovers there. The interiour is designed very hip, copper pipes, cosy and modern at the same time. The range of beers available on taop is wide and international, plus temporariy specials. Food is good. I had the cold cut platter which is huge, yet reasonably priced. Staff is friendly and seem to enjoy their work which immediately transfers to theb guests. One of my favorite pubs that I have been to in continental Europe.“

The Beers (Bar)
3 PLACE SAINT-PAUL
“Simply a magic place to sit outside with plenty of interesting beers, including BreewDog's Nanny State (for those touring by bike, like me). I didn't try the snacks because the bar is very close to Lyon's main restaurant district - which is not to be missed.“

“nice place in old town, friendly owner passionated about craft beer. Not al the beers are that great, so you have to be critical yourself. Prices are OK.“

Les Fleurs du Malt (Beer Store)
56, COURS GAMBETTA

“Visited 20th May 2018 with amagnus. Nice place. Entrance is quite tricky, the bar takes place in a cave.Ceiling is really low and some doors are really really low, but it's funny. Ambiance is heavy rock/metal, so OK for me. Music can be a little bit loud and it can be difficult to discuss. Place is very large. Tables and seats are kegs... so not very confortable; Dart to don't get bored. Beer selection is really nice. Very interesing choice with nice brewery from Europe on tap. Very eclectic. Bootle selection is great also but I didn't try. Good place for a beer in Lyon. Recommended.“

4 PLACE TOBIE ROBATEL
“Bottle shop, also offering growler fills. Good service - both knowledgeable and friendly. Decent selection of French and Belgian beers, plus a sprinkling of stuff from other countries. High prices but that seems to be the case with craft beer in France. Definitely worth a visit.“

Bel endroit.“

“Went here one night during my stay in Lyon. It is a club so you have to pay one euro for a membership to get in. Its certainly worth it though. One of the benefits of it being a club is they can be open super late(6AM I believe). They have about 5 draft lines. I had an excellent hazy IPA on draft from the French brewer Brasserie Haarddrëch. The bottle selection is where this place excels. I initially asked the owner Stéphane for recommendations for good French stouts and he helped us out. We ended up spending about 5 hours there and had a blast drinking amazing French, Italian, and Belgian beer from the cellar and talking to the owner and members about beer, France, traveling etc. It was a great experience. Highly recommended. “

Péchés Maltés (Beer Store)
76 RUE DE LA PART DIEU
“Small and cosy shop, selling whisky and beer. Owner (I think) was very friendly and knew his stock rather well. Selection is quite small but contained some stuff I had not seen in any other shop in the area. Prices were rather high. Worth a look if you are in the area near the main train station.“

“Biggish shop near Terreaux. Service is friendly but a bit mixed in terms of knowledge. Impressive selection of beers from all over. Good amount of French stuff but was particularly impressed by UK and US stuff. Prices maybe a shade higher than elsewhere. Worth a visit.“

“A place as unexpected as incredible. It is a dart club where I almost did not enter because you have to be a member ! But once the formality is complete, the place is open to you. Very surprised to discover this place (a bartender from a nearby beer bar advised me) open all night and where you can drink really good beers, crafts for the most part. Homemade cured meats, rare beverages, crazy staff, a very rock'n'roll vibe, wow !!!“

La Crafterie (Beer Store)
4 PLACE TOBIE ROBATEL
“True that the choice is wide enough but maybe there is not enough turnover to sell IPA past date. The rates are average high, and the staff also takes you high... I really prefer (in another register) "la chope de Lugh" in the old Lyon.“

“Even though it is a bar chain that sells far too many products from Duvel-Mortgaat, there are also very interesting products. The bar is often full and especially the staff is very caring for guests.“

La Chope De Lug (Beer Store)
9 RUE DU BOEUF
“Charming (very) little shop in the center of the old town. The very nice seller knows absolutely all its products that are only craft and local beers. Excellent discoveries at a reasonable price. Very big choice, even if everything seems not very good, but so many new and original things.“

“Weird bar... An impressive list of beer bottles, but only 20% craft and drinkables. Some really good beers on tap, but it is so expensive that the bar is populated by young people who want to enjoy happy hour on the only beer rotten at 2€. The music (rock) is good and the staff rather friendly even they do not always know much about their products.“

“They have an interesting Beer list, but the atmosphere is only nice for young people who want to drink. There is a lot of noise. Prices are very high. We liked "The Beers" much better.“

The Beers (Bar)
3 PLACE SAINT-PAUL
“In my opinion the nicest beer bar in Lyon. Lots of interesting beers on tap or by the bottle. Even several nice IPA's. Between 18.00 and 21.00 happy hour. Than you can drink o pint of Craft beer for about 6 Euro's. That's cool! Nice outside terrace where you can watch interesting people. Good service. Several snacks such as bread with tapenade“

“A huge place, unfortunately set way out of Lyon in a mall, so not so easy to get to. Surprisingly many seasonals and speceil brews on my visit, so I would like to go back, but it is out of the way and so much is happening in Lyon at the moment.“

“Small neighborhood "bouchon". You can eat well here at decent prices and drink local beers. It seem the beer selection is constantly changing, but hard to know after 1 visit. 8 taps and 6 bottles. I tested 7 new ones, but had to give up because a plane was waiting for me. I will be back“

“Underground cavern next to the Soane, loads of rooms, young clientele. 16 beers on tap from France to the US via Taiwan and Ireland. Prices are very Lyon although the barman was tossing a coin after you order, if you win beer is half price, happily I came up twice!! Punk trad music, some salami and cheese to eat. Big selection of bottles, place has a vibe to sit and booze all day, pocket will be a lot lighter after. Well worth a visit.“

“One of those really useful bars, on a tiny square in the old town, only stocking 20 or so beers but with half a dozen top raters, enough trail tucker (burgers, fajitas and salads) to sustain, and sensible daytime opening hours. Music, sadly. Small terrace outside.“

“Like all the other Ninkasi bars, this one has a handfull of the listed beers on tap and half-assed service. But there is free wifi and they are open all day, so a fine place to grab some snacks and not-insanely-expensive half-pints.“

“Decent brewpub on the east side of town. Nice back beer garden area with picnic tables. The operation is fully modern however, and the beers are of good quality. OK food. 8-ish house beers, the most adventurous being a coffee stout. Great place to kill and afternoon-evening.“
