“We visited here Saturday 16th March 2019, we were en route to our new home in Attenkirchen, Bavaria, this was a convenient stop off for lunch. We drove into Malmedy at first, however Brasserie de Bellevaux was a convenient stop off for lunch. We drove into Malmedy at first, however Brasserie de Bellevaux which is a few miles out of town in a village called Bellevaux is well signposted from Malmedy. To get here you have quite a bit of twisty, turny hill climbs in countryside most unlike much of Belgium. The brewery and café is on a bad bend with the car park opposite.

The brewery faces opposite the café both separated by a small road that heads up a hill, we went into the café. The café had a covered seating area outside but as it was still March we opted to sit inside. The bar is on the left hand side and tables and chairs are either side of a smallish rectangular room, lots of wood and with a big fire/wood burner at the far end. The tables on one side are bigger and seemingly designed for large parties such as the couple of large groups who came in 5-10 mins after us completely filling this little place, we assumed that they had done the brewery tour.

They had about 8 beers on tap including their new lager, and you could get taster flights of three at a time, which I did. They had a small menu, we both had omelette and they were both really good. The young female waitress was lovely she spoke French but her English was good. The beers were good, nothing blew me away but I enjoyed pretty much all of them. I would thoroughly recommend this place if in the area, we never purchased any beers to take away but I suspect that there was a shop on site if you wanted to. Liked it a lot.“

“This place (a converted mill) is in the middle of the forest, bordered with 2 large ponds. I found the definitely largest range of local and regional beers (over 75) I could find in a restaurant or bar around. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable (many languages spoken btw). Food is simple but home made with local fresh ingredients. All beers are special beers (all Belgian), with a couple of exceptions. Some you won’t find easily anywhere else.“

“Over 650 Belgian beers including some special editions. Possibility of buying beers by meter (a mix in a crafted box) or beer baskets. The staff can also design special packs such as birthday presents (e.g. 50 different beers for my 50th birthday) or company presents. They also sell matching glasses and memorabilia. Beside beers, wide choice of spirits and cheeses, many made with beer. Very responsive and knowledgeable staff.“

“Very big selection, lots of local Walloon beer that I’d never seen anywhere else. Fair price. Very friendly staff. Had mailed them a couple weeks in advance to make me a box, with everything I saw on their webshop, then topped it with more beers when I was there. We were welcomed by the owner and got to try some distils as well, for free. Very nice people. Will definitely go again when I’m in the neighbourhood.“

“It was very crowded and touristy, some beers not on tap. Overall quite disappointed. The tour was good though: informative and entertaining, the brewer gave some interesting insights in their brewing process and their coming projects.“

“The selection is overwhelming. Almost no foreign beers, but a lot of Belgian beers, including local beers and special editions. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They sell local cheese (some made with beer), sausage and other liquor as well. Recommended when you’re in the area.“

“Just went to the cafe, didn’t do the brewery tour. Small place that serves their beers and some snacks. We were there n a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded. The staff was clearly very busy and kept forgetting some of our order. Their taster is nice, but they don’t have all their beers on draft .“

“Small brewery with a nice tasting room and terras all together in some very nice looking pitoresque buildings. Friendly staff (all family members I guess). Felt very welcome and had some nice beers and some chats. Unfortunately I came quite late so it wasn’t possible to have a tour through the brewery. In the shop they also sell some nice local cheeses and sausages.“

“Brewery in a very picturesque setting, in a 17th century farmhouse rescued by a retired Dutch pharmacist and his wife. They give an interesting and informative brewery tour. The food is very nice. Staff is very friendly. Their beers are a good addition to the regional beer scene. Definitely must visit, even if you must go out of your way.“

“Bar and hotel on the main square in Malmedy. Friendly staff. Always full. Party room at the back. Taps are boring, but bottle list includes the key Trappists, plus the entire Bellevaux range, plus the Malmedy beers brewed by Lefebvre. Did away with snacks so it could concentrate on smokers. Plenty of food options on the square, though.“
