56 /100 Martonian Inn (Bar) 35 JEWISON LANE More club than pub, but open to all, set on the edge of a Static Holiday van site opposite the biggest maltings factory I have ever seen. It is a modern building with the feel of a school canteen. It seems to attract an older clientele for lunch time meals, but there is an area for drinking close to the bar, which is on the left as you walk in. I found it better to sit out the front where there is a seating area. I don’t know if I was lucky, but there were 2 new beers for me, so worth a look. |
74 /100 Davenport Arms (Bar) CONGLETON ROAD Unmissable on the A34 north of Congleton, this is a pub with a modern comfortable decor, warm, welcoming and very cosy. The wine and ale selections are good and there’s a focus on dining clearly attracting plenty of people from further afield than the small village of Marton to eat here. It has a very large car park for this purpose and equally a bit garden area to cater for hot summers and family fun. It can cater for large groups and has several rooms for this. |
