54 /100 Kolibrien Middelfart (Bar) ALGADE 40 Located at the pedestrian street. Cellar pub. Seats outside. At my latest visit there people sat predominatly outdoors talking and screamy loudly. Beers on tap and bottle. Few interesting. Mainly Danish macroes. Fair prices. The place used to have music events but I have not experienced that for a long time. Staff friendly, quick and talkative. |
52 /100 Cafe Razz Middelfart (Restaurant) HAVNEGADE 40 Located at the harbour front with seats indoor as well as outdoor the view can hardly be any better. Beers of draught the usual suspects with Carlsberg domination, nothing wrong with the beer, just beers that you can get anywhere. I like the brunch albeit it is not cheak. At my latest visit I never managed to reach the menu as I was supposed to scan it with my cell phone. Never functioned. No assistance, neither indoor nor outdoor. Left the place without getting anything. |
74 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 Extensive selecition of bottled beers, Danish as well as beers from many other countries, a good deal of beers in fridges. Probably the largest selection of beers in a Danish supermarket. Price level: In the high end, as elsewhere in Denmark. Serice: Well no staff present to assist you. |
62 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 A large grocery store with a large beer selection. Beers are mainly Danish breweries but mainly high quality breweries. Many stules, and many refeigerated beers. Prices are fair. |
76 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 Really great selection for a super market. Mostly Danish and Belgian beers, but they have a little bit of everything. They also have fridges for the hoppy beers, which is always nice. Prices are definitely lower than in normal beer stores for the same beers. Certainly worth a visit. |
98 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 My favorite beer shop. Maybe 900 kinds of beer, sometimes good deals, all kinds of beer and many hard to find elsewhere. The man responsible for the beers in the shop is a long time member of Danish Beer and knows what he imports. You can get good advice which beer to buy. |
90 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 An ordinary Kvickly grocery store with an insane craft beer selection! We took the trip from Aarhus to load my car with even more beer. The craft beer department is two long shelves with beers from local breweries and, some bottles made especially for this store and of course a well selected selection from European and US craft breweries. Nice to see a fridge with RateBeer logo, displaying top rated beers from Founders and Ugly Duck. I would say this store focus on all kind of Belgian styled beers. IPA, IIPA and NEIPA do not dominate as much as seen in other specialized beer stores. Not a problem for me, nice to visit different stores without seeing exactly the same new hipster beers! But, we were told that more fridges will come in near future, so I guess the selection of fresh, hoppy beers will increase. Fun to see a decent Norwegian selection from Nøgne Ø, Lervig, Ægir and even Berentsens. I was happy to find "Nøgne Ø Calm Christmas" a beer I have not seen available in Norway. We spent more than an hour seeking out beers to bring home. We happened to meet Jørgen Henriksen, the man in charge of the beer department. A really dedicated beer enthusiast and super service minded man. At RateBeer he is named "FoamTicks19" Hungry after spending time purchasing beer? No problem, there is a cafe right by the entrance. Simple, but decent enough and cheap food. (Visited February 25th 2020 with Untappd Eirik) |
52 /100 Guldkronen (Bar) TORVET 2, 5500 MIDDELFART Located at the old square of Middelfart at one of the ends of the pedestrian street. Originally two small rooms with a small bar with bar stools in one of them. Red and white checkered table cloth. A good deal of tables with 4 chairs. Service also outside in front of the place at the square when the weather is good. In January 2019 a new building towards the habour has been created. It contains a large room for parties at the ground floor, a small porch with tables and chairs outside towards the harbour, at the first floor there is another room for parties and a large terrasse towards the harbour. At the original pub the customers are allowed to smoke. I don't know about the rest of the place. The beer is not especially interesting. 5 taps with Danish macros and a number of bottled beers, also from Danish macros, did not ask how many. The athmosphere is relaxed and the place appears to have a lot of regulars. Tourists are, however, also welcome. Service is friendly and quick. Food can be ordered. Did not see any menu though and did not ask for it. |
86 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 Very big selection. Probably the biggest selection I have seen in any shop so far. |
96 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 Beer Store of Middelfart. I happen to find several dozens of new local beers from Fyn Island every year here. Helpful staff. Sunday 17th June I met the nicr man responsible for the beer department there. He claims that Kvickly has 800 (!) beers.
Good quality food in this big grocery store.
====Update visit july 2022====
Beer section has been moved and extended. Now even more fantastic, with local, danish, belgian, and other imports, even the best norwegian craft beers are here. |
78 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 Holy .... What a selection! So many different beers. American, Danish, Belgian, Dutch etc beers. Truly amazing. Way better selection than any other shop in Funen - maybe in Denmark! Lower prices than regular wine/beer shops. |
80 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 Quite a place! Probably largest selection in Denmark as I write! NOT only the usual supermarket chain beers but beers from Crooked Stave, Hoppin Frog, Wicked Weed , etc. I was in shock! Prices are a tad cheaper than online.. I Will return continously! |
48 /100 Brasserie Svanen (Restaurant) HAVNEGADE 8 C Nice place to start with, if you’re in Middlepharth for the first time. At the next doors in this building (Culture Island) you’ll find library and tourist information (early).
4 taps, local bottles. Good tarts. |
42 /100 Kolibrien Middelfart (Bar) ALGADE 40 Plus; ambience and adult calm guests.
Minus; smoking allowed indoors, as the place is very tiny. 40 guest max.
Staff is nice.
4 taps, all Tuborg. Limited bottle selection, as I was there now june 2016, but it was a sunday, and the fridges were almost emptied. |
50 /100 Cafe Razz Middelfart (Restaurant) HAVNEGADE 40 Very nice talk&lunch-place, good menu, limited beer-selection, but big quality brands are represented. Taps (Carlsberg); Tuborg classic, Carlsberg green, Jakobsen brown ale, Hoegaarden and 2 Grimsbergen. Superb view over the sound up to Bridge Storehbelt. |
74 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 Normally I do not rate supermarkets, but this one is definitely worth it. Located in the centre of the town, it has a truly impressive selection of both Danish (esp. Ugly Duck) and foreign beers of exceptional quality (De Molen, Cantillon, BrewDog, to name just a few). The staff make sure there are no gaps on the shelves. Reasonable prices. Will be back again. |
56 /100 Guldkronen (Bar) TORVET 2, 5500 MIDDELFART Located in the very heart of Middelfart, this venue is a typical Danish kneipe, welcoming smokers and offering few and well-known regular Danish macros. However, what makes it different from other places of this kind (and there are fewer and fewer of them left) is the fact that it is an authorised seller of Indslev beer and that it has two brews made for its exclusive sale. Cozy, folksy and okay for a cheap and cheerful evening but do take it for what it is. Hunt the atmosphere, not the beer. No food served. |
70 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 Supermarket with quite an impressive selection. All the normal supermarket suspects, loads of locals, Munkebo, Indslev, Ugly Duck (inkluding BA versions) etc. Big selection of Mikkeller, Amager, belgian and americans, some AleSmith, Two Roads. Fair prices. Well worth a visit if in the area. |
78 /100 Kvickly Middelfart (Grocery Store) ØSTERGADE 18 This supermarket is worth rating. Selection is well above supermarket standard. Wide array of local and and not so local bottles. Quite a few specials you don’t see too often. Chatted with the friendly and helpful (and ambitious!) beer guy. Selection is big and changes fairly often. Well worth a visit. |
70 /100 Guldkronen (Bar) TORVET 2, 5500 MIDDELFART Guldkronen - the Gold Crown - got its name in 1933 when the tavern was extended and they found a cross and a golden crown from times about the reformation hidden in the ground under the floor. Traditional Danish Tavern - the only one with 5 stars. 8 taps and 12 bottles on menu, and authorized dealer for Indslev Bryggeri. Alright tavern menu, fresh sandwiches.
Unfortunately still ashtrays indoor. |
