“Kraft Werks is a little way out of town but it’s well worth making the effort (about half an hour’s walk from the centre of town, perhaps only 10 minutes by bus) and I’d highly recommend that you make the effort to go there! There’s a bar with six taps (one cask and five keg) plus a terrific selection of bottles, all arranged by style, from the many fridges that line the back walls. It’s casual and relaxed, with plenty to keep the serious beer geek happy. The barman was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They’d just finished an Oktoberfest when we visited so it’s appropriate that the seating is at long tables with fold up benches. The decoration is minimal and they don’t do food but pizza can be ordered in. (Visited 10 October 2017).“

“Lively & popular Castle Rock pub with a fine range of beers, around 12-15 on cask & keg, split between the brewery’s own beers and guests. Very popular with diners, the food is great. I’ve always enjoyed my visits here“

“Great bottle shop/tap room in Sherwood. Big range of bottle from British, european & American brewers. About 7 taps, mainly keg, offering some often hard to find (and strong!) beers. Very reasonably priced. A must visit“

“Fantastic tap room and bottle shop with a selection from around the globe. Good choice of taps and a single hand pump serving well kept ales. Always an interesting, and often rare, mix of beers that would please groups with the most eclectic of tastes. A welcoming atmosphere, knowledgable staff and Oktoberfest style seating this is a real gem of a place!“

“Much needed place in Nottingham/Sherwood - it’s a bottle shop and bar in one, that has a friendly atmosphere and a decent selection of beers - small but ever changing on draught, and wider in bottles. They are up for listening if you want to suggest other beers for them to serve. Quite small so be prepared to sit on a bench and make friends!“

“In the north-eastern suburb of Mapperley, this Nottingham Wetherspoon pub is set back from the main road at a junction which, for a pub, is in a non-conventional single floored building. You have to walk through the patio area to get into the pub which is light and airy at its front due to the long glass windows, and less well lit to the rear although the plush decor adds its own brightness. There’s more of a feel of restaurant than pub in this one although the usual Wetherspoon menus and rotating ales applies so it’s good for both. There’s a nice modern looking central to the room fireplace area which is a good place to sit around in winter.“

68 /100 THE OLD BUS DEPOT, MANSFIELD ROAD
“One of Wetherspoon’s more interesting conversions simply as it’s a former red brick bus depot garage with an entrance placed where the double-deckers once passed through. Inside it’s a fairly familiar affair with an open plan room with a decent soft-furnished finish. The bar along the left hand side has seats on a second level above it but still within the main area. There’s actually a double balcony in here and some impressive mirrors hanging above the bar. There’s a couple of rows of real ales that rotate and you’ll probably find a Nottingham Brewery beer or two here.“
