“This Tim Taylor pub possibly has the best views of any of the brewery’s houses perched high in the hills with fabulous scenery across the lush valley. It also has a huge field right next to its outdoor patio that commands the best of these views, which is perfect for running the dog in as it is fenced on all sides beyond the tables and chairs. Dogs are only allowed in the small bar area to the right as you walk in, but you are welcome to eat in here which seems to be the focus of most of the people that arrive here. The best room and dining areas are a little more comfortable to sit in though and look out across the valley so you’ll probably want a window seat if you do end up in here. The centrally located bar area offers enough Tim Taylor variations to keep ale drinkers happy although you’ll probably be driving if you do end up here given its a little way west of Oakworth, very much in the countryside.“

“Set in a dip in the valley just to the north of Oakworth, this pub is probably inaccessible in inclement weather, but at other times it’s well worth traversing the hills of West Yorkshire to visit. The non-local visitors are generally here for the food off a very good menu, but to accompany this or if you’re just a seasoned drinker you’ll find a fine selection of ales from the region as well as the possibility of of the pubs own brews (although there were not on during my visit). Tim Taylor, Naylors and Goose Eye all had multiple brews available. The pub itself is a lovely stone building with several alcove areas all opposite the long bar which is against the front wall of the pub. There’s a couple of other areas to sit in but you’ll want to be by one of the three wood burners in the aforementioned areas if it’s winter time as it’s a drafty place given its age. Children are allowed and dogs feature here all the time, it’s a good destination for walkers too although if you arrive by car there’s a huge car park opposite the pub with a small mill as the backdrop to that.“
