“Ok its bit smelly, hah, yet if you like heavy metal you will find it cosy and classy. 6 taps all filled with Qasek brews, tried only their core range stuff.“

“Rather typical Czech hospudka in the northern outskirts of Ostrava. Filled with locals, with a patio overshadowed by Ostravar umbrellas. The joke is, Ostravar is actually on tap and surpasses quality-wise their own offerings. Well, the Citra ale was quite allright. The food was quite good as well, as was the service and general atmosphere. Compared with other microbreweries in the region, this one does not live up to the standards I would expect, though.“

“One of the taprooms of Starobelsky Pivovar. Set in the rural southern part of Ostrava, near a church, it also hosts the annual Starobelsky Beerfest. The establishment has a nice big green patio and a run of the mill hospudka interior. Can't say anything about the food, but their unfiltered 12° ležák is excellent and absolutely worth a detour from the city center.“

“Quite a nice pub but took ages to work out what was on offer... the board was all over the place. With the help of my phone i then worked out what was what and all was well after that. Good beers and something for everyone. Nice old decor tho' dont know how original...“

“Probably the best (oh no carling!) pub in town. 8 taps with 2 poor imports but an excellent selection of Czech microbreweries local and as far away as Liberic! Staff spoke English, everyone was friendly. A good locals pub where foreigners like me dont stick out too much! A must visit in Ostrava. Only downside shuts early :(“

“I was the only one in there on a dead Monday evening. The 2 Hoppydog beers I tried were both a bit average.“

“Just 3 on tap but all good quality. A relaxing pub in which to savour good local brews. Music (not live) not too loud was good blues guitar.“

“Brewpub at the heart of Ostrava, easy to find the location, but it seems like basement. Heavy metal stuff all the way – some bikers, rock music, some drunken men. Good selection of Czech craft beers and other alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately I was buried in smoke, but locals were really friendly – thumbs up with good communication with bartender. Good point for drink all night.“

“Quite small place with a few taps from Qasek brewery. Cheap prices for a good beer. They even have an IPA, other is more classic stuff (svetlý ležák). I was there on Tuesday afternoon and they didn't serve any meal. Good communication with staff. In the long run worth to visit at all, suitable to share some glass with friends or exploration of Czech beer traditions.“

“Good pub at city par Ostrava - Prívoz, near to railway main station Ostrava (1 km). 8 beers on taps, almost only small Czech breweries, often some Belgium beer.“

“Visited September 2017. Smallish restaurant with a bar, quite run o' the mill but definitely more agreeable than Hobit Club next door. Has a spacious outdoor area that you can reach by going through the restaurant. Friendly service, good place to sample microbrews from the region, especially the house beers (Qasek), some of which are really good. Recommended.“

“Visited September 2017. Wood-stuffed, smallish, obscure bar that was packed full with bikers when we got there. I guess this may be a good place to sample Qasek but it looks bad. Best to head next door to U Skakaveho Ponika (same owner), it's much more agreeable.“

“Located adjacent to an industrial area, so you may get some not really pleasant smells if the wind blows towards their patio. The patio itself makes it a good place to go with kids, as they have a large and very well equipped playground. The insides look like an American style brewpub, the focus seems to be more on the live shows, sports transmissions and food, only then comes the beer. At least that was my impression. Staff was rather friendly and efficient, given Czech waiting standards. The food was very good, the beers were hit or miss - their light ale and "12" pils being the ones I can recommend without further ado. I enjoyed it because of the welcoming atmosphere and the food.“

“Ok, no smoking room has some good food, but it is hard to get there since it’s always overcrowded. Smoking room is overcrowded as well, but the people is really friendly and staff just looks terrific although is really friendly. Qasek is very good, and this is the best place to drink it. So it is the best beer place in Ostrava (especially if you’re not a crazy disco freak starving for some nightly noisy crazy dances on Stodolni by weekends)“

“Quite austere beer pub. Main advantage of this pub - about six taps with beers from Czech minibreweries. No kitchen. Domestic and foreign beer bottles available (for example: Anchor, Flying dog, De Molen etc).“

“Beautiful restaurant and pub in the outskirts of Ostrava. Visited the pub section. Our waiter was very professional, kind and efficient. The food was wonderful, I had wild pheasant that was very well prepared. Their beers are good, not exceptional but quite tasty. The value is also amazing for the quality of food served. A very good place.“

“Small smokey brewpub, not much attention was given to decorating the place. The waitress was friendly if a bit slow (alone to serve the whole place). They had 4 house beers on tap, only beer no food. There is a bottleshop on the second story that appears to be owned by the same people but it was closed when we went so I have no feedback to give about that. I probably wouldn’t return to Ostrava anytime soon, but this is probably a must stop in the city.“

“Beautiful and excellent restaurant on the outskirts of drab Ostrava. Makes you forget, for the time you are here, how uninviting that city is. Ambiance is of a renovated chateau. Pivnice upstairs has lots of wooden beams, quite nice. Restaurace is gorgeous, filled with old furniture, but perhaps better suited for romantic evenings. The house beers are all decent if not inspired, but the food is the star of the show here. It’s nice that they decided to brew their own beer to offer next to their delicious meals.“

“Unfinished basement-like room that gets quite smoky in the evening. Service was slow, but then again the lady was overworked. Beers were so-so at best, even though they were presented very carefully, as is the norm in these parts. I wouldn’t make a detour to come here (Ostrava is far from a looker anyway), but these guys are trying to get good beer going in Ostrava, which is laudable.“

“Stunning brewpub located in the attic of an old chateau. Brilliant design, all in wood beams and furniture complemented by white walls. Superb. Beer-wise, they offer 4 domestic beers including a nice tmave-11 and a rotating seasonal. I appreciated the fact that you can order 0.1L tasting samples. Food is really the star here. Incredible quality ingredients and dishes that pairs well with beer. On the premises you can also find a chic hotel, a fine dining restaurant, a wine cellar and a wellness center offering beer baths.“

“Tiny brewpub in center of Ostrava. Home beers were very good, especially the polotmave which was toasty and creamy. Miam! Interior looks run-down, old furnitures, odd paintings on the walls, smokey like the Mordor... But this does not reflects in the quality and freshness of the beer. Regulars is a mix of youngsters and old folks. Food selection is limited to snacks. Drink curiosity, they serve a "pivni grog" which is a mix of unfermented beer wort, rum and hot water. Not bad at all.“

“The tour was very bland and typical, led through a factory by a guide with poor English. The complimentary taste of their Granat lager was welcome, but I’d have preferred a pils. If you’re there, go to the brewpub/restaurant, where you can order the 12-degree pilsner unfiltered. The food is good enough and decently priced.“
