82 /100 Padstow Tasting Room (Bar) OLD POST OFFICE, 8 DUKE STREET Summed up pretty well by MrPink. A nice modern bar that seems to be quite new, indeed google streetview still shows the old Post Office open. Smart feel with scandi style furniture, serving nicely presented light bites such as charcuterie and cheese boards, ploughmans lunch, pork pie etc.. Lots of older folk tucking in on our visit. Always pegged Padstow in the trad camp before, but there was a good range on tap. I got a flight of 3, including a west coast pale, munich dunkel and hedgerow sour, all very good. Only one cask line on. There's a shop with merch and some of their bottles / cans as well as a few Verdants. Prices seem to be at the mid-high end. Nice place, and dog friendly too with a large jar of treats which staff were keen to treat ours to. |
78 /100 Padstow Tasting Room (Bar) OLD POST OFFICE, 8 DUKE STREET This is their bigger bar in Padstow. Situated in the old post office and just one street back from the harbour side. The bar has at least 10 taps plus 4 hand pumps. Mainly their own beer with one local guest when I went. They are dog friendly and also sell merchandise. About 100 yards from their smaller bar in Padstow. |
68 /100 6 BROAD STREET Smaller of their two places in Padstow. This has 5 taps and about 10 cans or bottles. Mainly a shop at the front and a few seat out back. Nice little bar in this seaside town. Just back from the harbour. About 100 yards from their bigger bar. |
58 /100 Golden Lion Hotel (Bar) LANADWELL ST. Larger multi roomed pub just up from the London Inn, again just away from the Harbour area. The beer seems to be mostly from Sharps and larger Cornish Breweries. It was a younger crowd when we were in there and quite lively, the food was also pretty decent. |
62 /100 London Inn (St. Austell) (Bar) 6 LANADWELL ST. Friendly little pub just away from the Harbour, and thus main tourist area, in Padstow. Nicely old fashioned and comfortable with a mix of locals and some tourists. Just seems to be St. Austell beers but in good condition. Well worth a look. |
