Copper and Oak (Beer Store)
SHOP 1/235 NORTH BEACH DRIVE, TUART HILL
“Looked this place up after having Otherside Golden Hour (produced with/ for them). Website worked and it was easy enough to find two dozen mainly WA beers I haven't seen in Melbourne. Prices were OK, service was prompt, delivery was quick enough and all the beers that were meant to be fresh were. Will order again.“

“Entering The Dutch Trading Co the bar area is dimly lit with the front area containing solid wooden trestles and tables as well as lounges. Beer memorabilia adorn all the walls throughout the place – a short beer can wall is a feature upon entry while the back bar has a more extensive can display. There were 23 taps on serving in 266ml, 385ml, 518ml and jugs, all Perth craft beer priced. Check out the couple of fridges that house a range of takeaway can/bottles as there is quite a selection. Wine, cider and spirits are also available. The venue is family friendly and the staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Worth a visit.“

“Classy joint in old post office building. Very slick, without losing personality. 20+ beers on tap and very impressive fridge selection. Seems they will also can off tap for takeaway. Food is sophisticated. Was there for a sour takeover which was very well-curated.“

“Surprisingly big yet cosy bar (love how it sprawls through several zones which you'd be unaware of unless you went looking. Fantastic line-up across 22 taps, with generously priced tasting paddles. The fridges of takeaway are mindboggling. Not sure I've seen a better lineup in Melbourne (comparable to Carwyn Cellars). My burger was yum. And I walked back to the CBD afterwards (it's a straight line at least).“

“Nice space in old building. High ceilings. Interesting layout. But loud - music and talk. Staff friendly but a bit overstretched. Twenty or more beers on tap. A bit pricey but quality and location...“

“This feels like the unloved child of the James Squire family. Squeezed in next to a laneway it didn't feel as open or as welcoming as others I have been to. One beer I hadn't tried so I had that and left.“

“I always feel comfortable in these big American-style sports bars. The beer is average but drinkable with some variety. Food pushed no boundaries but is perfectly acceptable. Good place to have a couple of pints and watch the passing parade.“

“Inside it's like a groovy aging Melbourne cafe/bar (North Melbourne more than Fitzroy). Outside though it's like a boring Brisbane suburb (specifically Moorooka). But....great music, pool table, and a fantastically large range of beer on tap and in the fridge. Owner was a great guy and paddles started at $10! Food was really really good. Perth is not one of the world's great public transport cities. So getting the bus here at 6PM not a problem but getting one back to the CBD after 8PM? One bus an hour through a suburb only 4 km from the city! You must visit this place, just get a taxi home.“

Copper and Oak (Beer Store)
SHOP 1/235 NORTH BEACH DRIVE, TUART HILL
“One of my wife's favourites from back in the day, but grown on me over the years for their interest in all things booze. Beer choice is not limiited to imports or craft so there is a wide selection of U.S., Belgian, English, etc., as well as a great amount of local and Australian brews. Set out like a library and brimming with oddities in every nook and cranny. Great place for more than just ales and lagers as their selection of spirits and wines is awe-inspiring. One of the last independents of Perth, so worth a visit. Great!!“

The Liquor Shed (Beer Store)
630 KAREL AVENUE JANDAKOT
“Not quite on the top shelf with some of the other Perth bottleos (they don't seem to turn stuff over quite as quickly, which sometimes works well if you have missed out somewhere else), but there is a good broad selection here. I haven't really found any of the staff to be too interested when I've been in most times (it's a huge "barn" like a liquor store version of Bunnings), but I can generally walk out with at least a few new beers, and the prices are slightly below the competitors“

“Great liquor store with one of the better ranges in Perth. The staff know their stuff and are happy to give tips on their top tipples. My wife got a selection of brews for my birthday and the staff went around with her and hand picked each one. Every beer has been a winner so far. Couldn't recommend highly enough. No points for ambiance though. It's a beer warehouse.... so, maybe I should have given it full points!?!“

“From the huge beer list ranging from local small batch releases to goblets of Cantillon Zwanze, Joel has put together exactly what the Western Australia craft scene needed. A wide range of craft on tap, frequent events and a packaged take-away fridge, this is easily WA’s premier craft beer bar.“

“Well run and yet somehow chaotic during the lunch time rush, this is an old school delicatessan with a liquor license stocking a good selection, though not huge selection, of bottled ales and lagers. Good to compare prices here with their close neighbour the International Beer Shop. Found a few here have come out on top. I shop here mainly for the antipasti filled hoagies that are divine, but do always have a quick wander about the alcove with the booze!“

“My initial impression was that the (Belgian) selection was poor - just a few of the more standard, mainly InBev brews on tap. I wasn’t there for Belgian beer though - I can (and do) go to Belgium for that. When the bartender knew that we wanted to try some local brews he gave us 3 samples from the pretty large selection to try. They have a beer menu (not easy to find) but it didn’t list all that they had - look in the chiller cabinets behind the bar and you’ll see some very nice bottles which aren’t on the menu. I dread to think how much they cost, though. The common stuff was pretty expensive...“

“When I first visited Perth 19 years ago this place was an oasis but it’s now run down and a bit of a dump. The fabric of some of the seats in the main bar area could definitely do with a clean - I thought I’d need to clean my trousers after sitting down. We went there on two Mondays and there was a DJ playing a pretty poor choice of music, too loud, and nowhere to get away from it. Hardly surprising that there weren’t many customers. A good choice of beers but that’s about it.“

Luckies Liquor (Beer Store)
855 ALBANY HIGHWAY
“Three visits in a week. Ok, granted it is in direct ’A’ to ’B’ of my way home from work, but what is going on with this place that I have to keep going back. Not big, in fact cramped, but comfortable. Staff, of which I have only met two, are friends rather than simply there to serve you. Not huge in range, but what they have is not gatherer but hunter as each ale, cider, or whatever is in and out in the blink of an eye. Have to purchase on the spot or gone. And price...., ridiculously cheap. As far as range, forget your Belgian or US, or even Aussie micro. Instead find a range of random Internationals from China, Japan, Vietnam, Czech Republic, Scotland and England, etc. Off the hook different and so far a success of a few odd tastings and damned cheap good nights in. Don’t know how they do it!!!“

“Meat and beer. What else do you need? These guys always have decent stuff on tap. Very much a focus towards Feral Brewery beers which means if you are ever after a new release by Feral then these guys are sure to have it regardless of how hard it is to track down. You can pay some pretty hefty prices for some of the seasonals though. Food has been good in my experience so far. Can get very packed out so get in early“

Five Bar (Bar)
560 BEAUFORT STREET
“One of Perth’s only proper craft beer focused bars at this point. Fantastic place to have a few drinks or an event. Service is always great. Good selection of craft beers and always two good options to choose from outside of the general squire sort of stuff. Food is good. As of late, there hasn’t been as much craft as in recent times but there is still a solid selection. Slightly higher than usual prices for craft in bars so be prepared to pay that touch more. Worth a visit“
