“A small walk from downtown. Nice place with lots of bricks and wood, I like those places, and a large patio. About 8 beers on tap, 2 seasonals or specials. Food is ok, beers also.“

“ONce again a small walk outside downtown. Modern bar with a large bar and a small patio. Nice selection of beer - lots of NEIPA-, sours and 2 kombucha on tap. Flights and small sizes available. Staff was friendly - thats it.“

“Hipster-looking brewpub a few minutes out of downtown. Nice patio, lots of TV screens inside. Been here for a Jays game and a beer. Selection of about 10 beers on tap, flights available.“

“"You arrived in a very special night.." Jam-Theater @Bateau de nuit. As we enterd, no music was playing and it was absolutly silence. Then starting theater with words from the Rocky Horror Picture Show... Rocked down bar like in the 90th, nice selection of about 10 mostly local beers. Very charming staff, good music.“

“Brewpup and restaurant close to St. Lawrence River, just a few minutes from Chateau Frontenac. Nice old building with a nice interieur and a large patio. About 10 regular beers on tap, up to two seasonals and a few bottles of aged saisons and stouts. Nice place for a stop.“

“Nice place in the middle of an area with lots of bars/restaurants. They have 10+ beers of their own on tap and also some guest taps. At first glance it could look like a tourist trap with lots of noisy young people having fun. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon.“

“10 taps. Small little dirty punk bar. Apparently the week before was a big beer fest so they didn't have great stuff on tap. Told it is pretty hit or miss, but can have great stuff. Small bottle selection, but staff don't know a lot about beer (only the owner if he's in).Overrated, but worth a stop.“

“6 taps on the menu. I see a few bottles in the fridge. Staff knows nothing about beer. Waste of time. Don’t bother. There are more taps, but this is the first place that seems to be a pretentious French only place, against English speakers. No information on the other taps, if they are even hooked up.“

“18 taps (1 cider, 1 kombucha, 1 tap out). Flights of 4 beers. Although I wasn’t wowed by the beers, nothing was bad, it was all pretty good. The food outshone the beer though. My first visit the bartender was very laissez-faire (apparently no food was his favourite or his recommendation, anything is good - I always hate the complete lack of opinion of staff, have you even tried the product?), but the second time the (different) bartender recommended the sausage which was a good choice. Worth dropping by.“

“8 taps, open late, cash only. Was trying to goto Bateau de Nuit next door, but it closed early so ended up here. Very much a punk style dive bar. Sleeves or pints only. Waste of time for anyone on Ratebeer. Met some locals so had a decent time.“

“9 taps hooked up (there were 20 tap handles though) - 1 session mead, 1 seltzer, and 7 beers (3 Inox beers, and 4 Quebec guest taps). Flight of 5 available. The Inox brews were quite bland, guest taps were unremarkable. Not really worth coming here even if you’re a dirty ticker. Staff know nothing about beer. Decent patio at least.“

“More of a restaurant than a pub, but with a pubby hipster type vibe. Near the beginning of Rue Saint-Joseph, the main commercial and entertainment street in the Saint-Roch area. Most tables are by reservation, but I stopped in early and got a table right away. There is a small bar but it only has five seats, very close together. The rest of the seats have tight spacing too, so if you're taking Covid precautions this might not be the place for you. Menu has a large variety of dishes, all were very flavorful, right through to dessert. Portions are pretty big, I only made it through four small plates before surrendering. Skip the draft Sapporo and try the bottles from Brasserie Les Grandes Bois and l'Espace Publique, nice mellow sours and session IPAs that paired nicely with the food. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices were on the high side, but reasonable considering the flavors. Worth a look.“

“"How did you find us?" the bartender asked me. Apparently a neighbor complained about their unapproved sign so they had to remove it. It's taken them several years to receive government approval for a new sign, but so far they have the approval but not the sign. Google Maps just takes you in circles. So good luck on the adventure. It's tucked behind two small apartment buildings, in a building that is industrial but non-descript, without any of the usual indicators of an active brewery. Unless you spot the picnic tables of their outdoor space; but if you do, you've gone down the wrong alley, just backtrack to the street and go down the next one. It's worth the effort - the beers are tasty and creative and the staff and fun and engaging. Flights of four are possible. They have a Jamaican food truck without the truck, more of a food bicycle but without the bicycle either, on Thursdays and Fridays. Otherwise it's popcorn or bring your own - no delivery driver will ever find this place. Worth a visit.“

“Cat theme is subtle and stealthy, like the namesake. A 5 ounce our is called a Chaton, which means kitten. So if you want a flight, you ask for four kittens. Crowded on a Friday night, and alley tables were closed for rain. Long L-shaped bar, lots of bar tables, handful of restaurant tables. View of the small brewhouse (maybe just fermenters? or serving tanks?) through glass; their main brewery is a couple of kilometers away. Beers mostly had cat names or references, mainly NEIPAs but a smattering of other styles including a nice chili and grapefruit stout that actually works. I had mac and cheese which was not good. The burgers looked a lot better, and that's what everyone was ordering. The sausages looked good too, and the salads were large. No shortage of kids here, including a one-year-old unvaccinated birthday party, I guess the parents don't like their kid. Plenty of time to have more I guess. Service started weak but finished strong. Nice stop.“

“Visited on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch and the place was jam packed. Rain had forced everyone from the otherwise sunny sidewalk tables to the interior, so that was probably a factor. I found one seat at the bar. Large place, the room with the bar is a bit more cramped but has nice window tables; a second room is a bit larger. There is also a separate beer and swag store next door. All 18 taps were active and they had bottles too, in a range of creative styles - rye gruit porter, 100% Brett beer with dandelions, in addition to the usual NEIPAs; all were tasty, some were nicely low abvs, around 3%, but still flavorful. Food was decent enough pub food. Service was quick and friendly despite being slammed. Parking is tough, street parking is limited to 60 minutes. I saw no kids or dogs. Solid stop.“

“Visited for a beer release just as a deluge was ending so I easily got a seat on the side deck beneath some towering maples. Live music, street blocked off for a party that the rain dampened. Inside is very characterful , brewhouse visible through glass both from the side entrance and from the deck. Inside bar is more or less U-shaped with a small extension, plus a few tables, plus more sidewalk tables out front. Service was quick and efficient. 14 beers on offer in an interesting variety of styles. Permanent food truck has tasty food, self service more or less. Great session“

“Right across from the SAQ, this place was about as big, maybe slightly bigger. So obviously the cider and ice cider collection far outweigh the selection at SAQ, but they didn't have any of the more famous and well-known ice ciders, and no perries, ice or otherwise, at all. Prices higher than SAQ but still not that bad.“

“At one end of the public market with a patio overlooking the hockey rink and a huge square. Enter either through the patio or the market. Long bar with a giant TV in the middle, fortunately with no sound. Half a dozen beers on offer, flights of four possible. Staff were enthusiastic youngsters. Beers were just OK, everything seemed pretty safe. I had just eaten elsewhere so I didn't eat; but you also have all of the places inside the market to choose from. Worth stopping by if you're at the market anyway. Or at a hockey game, but I hate to think what the crowds might be like.“

“Essentially a stripmall location so there is a lot of parking. Looks small from the outside but you step in to a big space; peek at the brewhouse on your right as you enter - not one, not two but three brewers hard at work when I visited. Continue inside and sit at the very long bar that wraps around the giant pizza oven on the right with its revolving interior, a beautiful thing to behold. Interior was air conditioned on a very hot and humid day, much appreciated. There is an outdoor space with lots of picnic tables and a handful of umbrellas, not much shade overall. Beer quality was outstanding, a good range of lagers, IPAs, dry hopped sours, and even two barrel aged beers, a Baltic porter and an imperial stout. Flights of three, but generous sizes, 5-6 ounces. Pizza was equally fantastic, very creative flavor combination with an incredible crust. Solid service. Other brewers drinking at the bar, always a good sign. A must-visit if you're anywhere near Quebec, or even if you're not.“

“Just two blocks from my Airbnb. Seems to be a sister restaurant of Buvette Scott since the format is identical, though the food and beer are different. Four beers on Draft, 3 from Canada and one from Spain. Bottle list includes multiple special brews from 3 Fonteinen and Tilquin as well as Half a dozen well-chosen Canadian types. Food is medium sized plates, very veggie friendly, Moderately pricey. Solid place.“

“This was my neighborhood bistro when I stayed at a nearby Airbnb to be close to Rue Saint-Jean. Corner place, street parking is very difficult. Inside is a serving bar plus two rooms of restaurant tables. There is an attached covered patio that looks like it can be au pleine air in the summer or completely enclosed in winter. 16 taps total, with two separate menu boards for macro brews and local microbrews, 8 taps each. Macros were mainly the Boreal selections that most of the local places offered. Micro selection was pretty good, including some that I hadn't seen around much. Food is tasty but dinner is pricey; breakfast and lunch are better values. Friendly staff. Decent place.“

“Small place near my Airbnb. I reserved a spot at the bar on a Tuesday night and I'm glad I did. Every staff member called me by name throughout the night. The bar where I sat was L-shaped and had a great view into the kitchen, with its periodic flurries of activity. The food was pretty amazing, very creative and tasty. I enjoyed working on beer pairings for each course with the barman. They had one Auval beer on tap and three in bottles. They had one Les Grand Bois on tap and two in bottles.“

“Tourist Day for me. There's good news and bad news. The good news is that this pub has lowered its beer prices, it's now CAD 5.75 for a glass and 8.25 for a pint; flight of four is 20 bucks. The bad news is that it's only beer from a large brewer now, McAuslan/RJ. The onion soup is still pretty good though. Characterful old building from 1754 with alley tables out front, all with umbrellas, and more umbrella tables on a deck out back, closed when I visited for a weekday lunch. Inside had lots of stone, tiny bar, two rooms of restaurant tables, but was stifling hot on a cloudy and cool June day. Quick friendly service. Served its purpose.“

“Right on the main drag, close to Le Projet and other decent places. Two rooms, most of the stock is in coolers. OK selection of Quebecoise breweries with one cooler reserved for breweries in the city. Young guy at the counter was helpful and even looked through a couple of the coolers to find what I was after. Decent selection of sausages and other meats, barbecue sauce. Prices seemed in line with the area. Worth a stop if ou're on Rue St Jean“

“Stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. Large place, two rooms, maybe even a patio - I saw several ladies disappear around the corner but I was too lazy to investigate. Brewhouse visible through glass. Eight beers on offer, flights of four possible. Beers varied - I enjoyed the malt forward beers better than the others, although a fruited kettle sour was fine too. They had a cricket ale (not the sport) in anticipation of putting popcorn or barbecue crickets on the menu soon. I couldn't really detect much in the flavor, but then again my experience with insects in my beer so far has been limited to the occasional drowning fly or mosquito. Food was tasty and filling. As a result of a very minor mishap at the bar, manager comped me both the meal and the beers. Worth a look.“

“Advertises the best patio in the city and they're probably correct. The bar itself is a bit dark, mainly a serving bar although there are a couple of stools. Lots of restaurant tables in nooks and crannies. Couple of non-served tables outside on the pedestrianized street. But the back patio is the place to be, atmospheric and cozy. Very friendly service, and the patio has table service too. Taplist is mainly Trou du Diable and Boreale. I did not see any food, kids or dogs.“

“Easily seated at the bar on a busy Saturday night. Only half a dozen or so stools and the rest are restaurant tables. They were doing a pairing of small bites plus a flight of beers - yes please. One of the paired beers was from la Barberie, very brave of them to put a guest tap on their featured flight. The house beers were just OK, the guests more interesting, including several variants of Peche Mortel. The big surprise was the food, really tasty and creative, even though it was a bit pricey. Friendly efficient service. Great stop.“

“They had two punk rock bands and a modest cover charge when I stopped by. Slam dancing and a good beer list? Yes please. Ten beers on offer in a variety of styles, lagers dominated but there was a gose and a nice coffee stout too. A bit pricey but the music was good. My Airbnb is just two blocks so I'll have to return for a more mellow experience.“

“This place is on the main drag of Rue Saint-Jean. Just a couple of tiny sunny outdoor tables overlooking a view of Jesus and the St Lawrence river valley. Inside has beautiful Baroque style plasterwork everywhere, well done and pleasant to look at. Long bar with lots of stools and the rest is restaurant tables, overall a small place. I got a seat at the bar around 20:00 on a Friday but it filled quickly after that. Huge beer list, 29 taps included half a dozen ciders, all Quebec. Staff were attentive and efficient despite the crowds. At one point the barman carried four flights of four to the outdoor tables, a skillful feat rivaling the brute strength of the women servers at Oktoberfest. Tasty food in decent portions. I saw no kids or dogs. Really enjoyable session.“

“A cool microbrewery with a great beer selection and awesome pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven imported from Italy. “Visited on June 16, 2021, in the evening for souper. Located in the heart of the St. Sauveur district, maybe the most multicultural district in the city. This place was a former store, minimal decor but a few art works including a nice mural. The star of the place is the beers, I had a few before and I like them and I was not disappointed with the Yosemite #6 IPA. I can not state the same for the food, a bit over price, it did not help that are waiter push my mom to have a side dish which was too much, not to mention he was full of himself. I would come back for their beers, but try other restaurants in the area that look more interesting!“

“Visited on June 15, 2021, in the afternoon. Very unassuming place, almost a hole in the wall if it wasn't for the large name and logo on the building. Inside is a small but very nice looking tap room and boutique, with two windows looking in the brewing room. They have 8 tap, which are great to try before buying, most of their brews are IPA's. Although I prefer their brewpub, were that have beers brewed exclusively on the spot, it's still a good place to try and buy their very good beers.“
