“Within Rochdale on the road out to Heywood, it's one of a couple of pubs on the south side of the main road as it rises. The pub always looks closed as its large front doors are not used. The entrance is at its side where there's also a car park. It's has quite a large open ground floor space with a separate function room available. There's also a buffet table in one part. This pub does serve food but I was in here late on a Sunday evening so nothing was being served or was cooking at this point. Not too busy on my visit, the bar serves JW Lees ales in keg and cask, including the current seasonal beer from the brewer. I actually found a new regular ale I haven't tried before so I was quite pleased with that! The decor has been updated in recent years and it's fairly plush affair for what is essentially a locals place.“
