“Nice family type restaurant with rustic decoration, inside an inn dating back to 1773. They had a great food menu, 16 beers on tap with at least 4-5 very local craft. Flights of 3 or 5 available. Good place for a dinner, with a few select craft brews.“

“Stopped in here with Patty on way back from our Maine/Vermont vacation. Nice place. 8 of their 9 beers on tap were still available. I had the sampler of 6 nice beers but nothing standing out. The food was good enough too.“

“After eight pm on a Sunday in the early part of July 2016, the weekend before Saratoga blows up with horse people. Not centaurs, because that would be too cool, but horse racing enthusiasts.
It was a beautiful night so we grabbed the high top table near the bar that straddled the inside and outside thing, which worked very well myself and the group of coworkers I was with. Server was excellent. I know it’s not a huge thing, but I’m always impressed when someone can remember an order from a whole table, which included a flight (6x5oz), without writing it down, and then doesn’t mess it up. Grabbed a mac and cheese as well, which was pretty good. When ordering and the server asked if we wanted the large or small sized, he told us the large could feed about 5, so we opted for the small. It’s a good sized meal for one, or in our case was a great snack for three. Beers are good, not great perhaps, but better than your average brewpub. Prices were reasonable enough. Worth the stop.“

“Seems like an odd location at first. House on property up front with a large ish manufacturing facility behind. Turns out this is the manufacturing facility Serotta built in 2002. Must say it made it awesome knowing this is the old Serotta facility. Just FYI so others know up front. Love that aspect. Brewery shares the building with a distillery. Distillery (upstate distilling) has the larger part of the facility. The brewery is upstairs with their operations in back (old paint shop of the bike factory? I like to speculate). Looks like a solid size operation, maybe 15 bbl? They had 7 or so of their own beers on tap when I was there. Beers were well made and enjoyable. Didn’t have any food. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Was just a great experience overall. Loved the ambiance and people and the beers were very good. Will be back for sure and excited to try other beers of theirs.“

“Visted mid-afternoon, and this place was bustling. Big patio/yard type of area with lots of people. Bar was quite crowded as well. Seemed like they could have used more bar type seating instead of the large amount of tables taking up space, but what are you going to do? Having had the Dare previously (at Tap), I knew I would probably enjoy their beers. They had a nice selection across a good number of styles, ranging from solid to very good. Located right in the busy part of town, this place is a must visit if you are in the area.“

“It’s going to tough to rate this one.....it seems in Saratoga it’s fine to bring your screaming toddler out to dinner in a public spot. I tried only one beer with dinner as I wanted to get out of the crib and regain my hearing. If I never go back it is only because I don’t want to waste a nice quiet dinner on half a dozen out of control children .....that being said, the building and grounds are quite well done. On this cold evening they had the smudge pots going to warm the outside dining area and with a jacket folks looked comfortable (stupid me no kids were there). The waitress had to return after the order knowing what we had ordered was not there that day, but she forgot.....OK....it happens, then sitting there with an empty table for several minutes simply waiting for the check, with the accompanying noise, was not wanted. But it happens.....had it been quiet inside and snowing outside it would not have been an issue, but if it was quiet I would have enjoyed some more brews. Such is life. The only beer I had was a bit lacking, OK, very plain but close to style, and I will have to judge it on that one. There was nothing over the top in their lineup, all basic safe style type offerings, and I was originally hoping to try 3, but................ The food had generous portions and quite well done but much of the menu was just different types of burgers and not an extreme amount of choices but something should be to almost anyone’s liking. The calamari was quite good and quite large as an appetizer. But screaming toddlers is not what I pay for and, though it’s not the brewpub’s fault but that of the inconsiderate parents, it might have helped to herd them in their own corner. They were all around and there was no escape.“

“One of the better brewpubs in the Capital District, especially in the summer. The outdoor seating is usually very nice. In the fall there’s heating lamps so you won’t get cold.

Beer is made by George Dipiro, formerly of Albany Pump Station. he’s a master BJCP so he brews everything exactly to style. You won’t find any flaws, though you won’t find much that is especially experimental or offbeat, it’s all to-spec. The IPA and the pale ale are probably best. Fist of Karma Brown Ale is also very good. the barleywine is excellent (but only around in the winter).

Druthers is known for their food as much as their beer. Very high-end, gastropub type menu. Nothing’s cheap, but everything’s good. I recommend the Ban-Mi or Cuban sandwich.

Service is always good. Rarely will you have to wait.“

“I had an opportunity to visit during a recent business trip to Saratoga Springs. The ambiance of the place is really determined by where you are sitting. The indoor dining room is rather dull and dreary with what looks to be plywood walls that completely cut you off from the rest of the place and allow no ambient light. The bar area is better with huge windows that allow lots of light, although the tables are a little snug. The outside courtyard is best off all, especially on a nice summer’s evening. Selection was excellent with 10 different beers from the brewery all on draught. Service was excellent and attentive. The food was very good; the macaroni & cheese was really, really good. Overall a great place to visit and definitely worth the stop if you’re in town.“

“One word of caution..be careful in the summer months, this place gets ridiculously packed. I come here for food first, then beer. The food and selection is by far better than the beer selection. Excellent steak, sub par beer selection.“

“This is a really great brewpub. Food was very solid. High quality food you would expect from a nice restaurant with some different choices than a normal brewpub menu. And the beers were very solid. I was impressed with the beers. All were very well done. Even the ones that I wasn't find if the style I enjoyed as they were made very well. Solid brewery and brewpub. Would go back anytime I had the chance.“

“Stopped here on my way through Saratoga and it was a positive experience. The place is great with only a gate on the street you walk through a huge open air beer garden style patio. The building looks new or newly renovated in the back. The beer is average but they had a nice selection of styles and nothing was terrible. The food I had was nice and I enjoyed it. If they improved their beer this place would really be great.“

“Food is good... beer is good, but it is not a beer bar. The waitress we dealt with had absolutely no knowledge of the beers we were asking about, and quite literally made up an answer. It was a bit off putting, despite reasonable costs on decent beer.“

“A bit off Broadway but a wonderful neighborhood bar type atmosphere with a friendly clientele and not too much of anything. Visually pleasing with well done woodwork. The beer selection is not huge, but it was varied enough for me to have a couple new brews, and we did enjoy our meals.......revisited two years later and more impressed, especially after a disastrous time at a town brewpub. Glad we knew it was there from a previous visit, it saved the evening....Backwoods Bastard on tap? It was needed.“

“Parting Glass is pretty great. They have one of the largest beer selection of any bar in Saratoga, and have a constantly-rotating tap and bottle selection. That, combined with the Irish pub atmosphere and great events (see Hair of the Dog if you can--excellent Irish rock band), makes Parting Glass a great place. Long ago they were notorious for having gross beer lines, but that isn’t the case at all anymore. Everything pours and laces well and most of the staff is fairly in-the-know in terms of what they offer.“

“Irish Times is where the old Saratoga Brew Pub used to be many years ago, and it still has that old charm. Two floors (a bar on each floor), a patio, and an upper deck during summer, Irish Times can be incredibly crowded during peak times, but it can also be a nice, quiet place off of the beaten path for a mid-afternoon drink, if you choose. The food isn’t fantastic, but you’ll occasionally hit something with some great flavors (I like the IT burger, a burger with some rasher bacon on top). Great Guinness pours and a rotating selection of other choices.“

“I love The Local, but I’m not sure I’d go as far as to call it a "beer bar" like some of the listings I’ve read. The food is great, as is the service, but it does get incredibly busy in there (probably because of the food and the beer). About 8 taps, usually 6 filled with craft beers, 1 dedicated to Guinness (and they pour a nice pint). Craft beer in bottle offerings look to be nice, but I usually get a Guinness while I’m there, as I go there for the food, not the beer.“

“A tasting room located not far from the touristy area. They offer anywhere from 4-8 melomels and have some interesting experimental melomels, including their Mellow Yellow which incorporates bourbon barrels into the process. An interesting stop, but not something to go out of your way for.“

“Not as good a selection as Oliver’s in Albany. Service was downright unfriendly and not helpful. But if you can manage the aisles yourself, you’ll find a pretty solid selection of craft brews, including a fair amount of micros in the fridge. Prices on 6 packs are very reasonable, little cheaper than Oliver’s. Good place to go for good beer, and definitely the best that close to downtown.“

“I love the Glass. It’s my favorite Irish Pub in Toga. We usually go there in the summer during track season. It’s a great meeting place for friends and a good place to get drunk if you lose your shirt at the track. It has a genuine Irish Pub feeling to it that other places try to capture but rarely can. A great place to see live music also.“

“I was in town for a conference & checked the place out. A good enough selection with the likes of Dogfish, Lake Placid, Mendocino, Unibroue, Smuttynose, Moylans, Stone, etc. Lots of good stuff, but nothing rare. There were two growler fill stations (one was Stone IPA, I forget the other.) Some bottles were in direct sunlight. Homebrew stuff was available but I didn’t look too closely.“

“I’m relatively local and hear the occasional good thing about this place, but the night I went I was given a lukewarm Smithwicks - it’s an Irish place for God’s sake - and the (female) bartender was too busy flirting for tips for me to get her attention, and I tried. Track season or not, I will not be back. PS: They charge admission for some (not big name) live entertainment - $15!“

“As was said, very near to the Olde Saratoga (Mendocino) brewery. Good selection, but it’s hot as hell in there which can’t be good for the beer. Prices a bit inflated. Found some Unibroues that I can’t get in my own town. Prices on Ommegang products are ridiculous.. Props for the homebrew product.“

“This beer store is virtually across the street from the Saratoga/Mendocino/Brewery/etc. They have a decent selection of most of the common local stuff and harder to find stuff brewed across the street. They have a good selection of NY craft beers as well as a few intriguing european and belgian beers. I saw a couple Cantillons on the shelves and a bottle of Utopia that they were asking $200 for!!!!! I found the prices a bit inflated. They also have a small wall devoted to homebrewing with grains, extracts, and some hops. This is a cool place and definitiely worth the stop after you hit the brewery across the street.“
