Civico Maltato (Beer Store)

“At this point in time it’s a beer bar with food and off sales. Some interesting Italian craft on tap and several great bottles. Definitely worth a visit if one can find parking.“

“Very nice bar close to the bridges on the west side. Bar owner started brewing his own beers, so this place should be changed to a brewpub. So far he only sells the ipa to go, but he had an excellent red ipa and a blanche on tap when I visited. Closed on wednesdays since owner has to have a day off. Nice personal service. Always good to visit and try local beers! Many other good italian and foreign beers in the fridge.“

“Very nice place, right on the main corso. Opened 6 months before the Covid pandemic so it is fairly new. The guy who runs the place is really friendly, helpful when it comes to picking up local beers. There is a variety of those on tap and in bottles as well. He also brews his own beer and you can take it home in 0,33 bottles. Food is also available but I do not have any experience with that. I really-really recommend as it is evident that the guy puts his soul in this craft beer bar. :)“

“Big place with some 10+ beers on tap, friendly staff and bottle take away opportunity. Muttnik, Rurale, Brewfist, Nix beers were the local options. I really recommend this place close to the port and the bridges to Ortigia.“

Piano B (Restaurant)
VIA CAIROLI, 18
“I have really bad experience with this place: we went to visit after some 10-15 minutes of opening time, they told us to come back after half an hour. So we did, and despite the place being empty the waitress sat us down at a small corner table - despite our effort to get a better one. Then she went inside to talk on her phone while her colleague disappeared. There was no beer selection or taplist visible anywhere. After a while we left because we wanted to have dinner too and decided it is probably a safer bet to have it somewhere else. Really a disappointment.“

Piano B (Restaurant)

“Il primo locale a Siracusa a proporre birre artigianali, alcune fisse altre a rotazione. Vengono valorizzati anche i birrifici siciliani che qui hanno la possibilità di essere conosciuti ed apprezzati. Da non perdere.“

“We were attracted to Piano B because of its off-beat approach to meats, cheeses and even salad greens with particular provenance. Imagine our delight when we also discovered a shelf full of new-generation Italian microbrews! The selection is small by global standards, but immense by Sicilian standards: Baladin, Maltus Faber, 32 Via dei Birrai, Paul Bricus etc. It’s located just a couple of hundred metres over the bridge from Ortigia. The decor is modern, the atmosphere somewhat hip, but our young family found it perfectly comfortable. Get the cured meat platter and some of their exceptionally-light pizzas. This was easily the best beer selection in the entire city, with really good food at reasonable prices.“
