Royal Oak (Bar)
1 CIRENCESTER ROAD
“Visited April 2014. Refurbished freehouse that is at the bottom of Gumstool Hill heading away from the town centre. A restaurant is upstairs and bed and breakfast is offered, but the character of the bar downstairs remains pub like, with a real mix of people and friendly atmosphere. The beer range was good for the Cotswolds, with brews from Bristol Beer Factory, Harbour, Stroud, Bath and Moor. We didn’t eat, but the food coming out of the kitchen looked good. Well worth a visit.“

“Visited on 12/4/09. A welcome addition to Tetbury, which has lacked a decent pub for many years. Tried decent beers from Cotswold Spring, Uley and Box Steam, whilst local Cotswold Brewing lager was also available. Pizzas from the wood-fired ovens were very enjoyable. Has rooms available, so a good base to visit locations such as Dursley, Uley, Nailsworth, Stroud and Cirencester. Bristol and Bath aren’t too far either. Good.“

74 /100 LONDON ROAD,
“This is a gastro-pub with a good reputation for locally sourced food. This extends to the beer and wine too, with beers from Uley, Goffs, Wickwar, Wye Valley, Three Castles, Palmers and Cotswold Brewing available as well as wines from the near by Bow in the Cloud. They have rooms as well and we spent an excellent night there while visiting the nearby Westonburt Arboretum. Good beer, good wine, good food, good service.“
