“Very quiet, bar like atmosphere, a few outside tables, about sixteen taps, but a number are macros. Quaint.“

“Nice clean brew pub and craft beer market. Very friendly staff. Some of the beer is quite pricey. 6 oz ghost train purple Dade $6.50.“

“The food was great and the service was very good. The beer selection is limited. They do have several Japanese beers on tap.“

“Quick dinner at the bar. Typical domestic and Mexican imports on tap with one local craft Brewer. Bottles were all major brands. Food was very good and they allow special orders to spiciness levels.“

“This place sucks as far as customer service. The ladies in the store talk like dirty whore’s!!!! The beer section is kool. The wine section sucks!!!! The liquor is ok. But like I said the staff talks to all men that come in the store, like they are hookers selling pussy not liquor!!!“

“First time visit. Staff was friendly and the décor was unique. Their beer menu included multiple draft options that are not available elsewhere. Definitely will be back.“

“Decent sized bar that seat 12/14. Picnic tables around the place. Foosball table, corn hole going on. Oh yeah this place is in a huge warehouse space. It seemed so far from one side to the other that I couldn’t throw a rock across it in one try. A lot of beers on tap all solid clean crisp and fine drinkers. WIFI and flights available. Would recommend it to everyone.“

“Stopped in with the crew and Jim on our way back to the interstate. Industrial building with a sort of Steampunk theme to it. A lot of brushed metal and stuff, too. Big open warehouse with a number of tables and some games set up as well.

Friendly enough staff and they had a handful of beers on tap, available in a sampler or in larger pours. I didn’t think the beer was as good as Blue Pants. Their flavored/treated beers seemed like their best offerings, but nothing was really bad either. Just seemed a little less refined and polished than their neighbors down the road.“

“Sprouts looks like the folks from Trader Joes decided to open a whole foods. Lots of open space and a focus on natural and organic food. The beer is in the back right of the store. They have around 150 varieties about 1/3 of those of the BMC variety. They have a few locals and regional craft but compared to Spartan selections of local grocery stores it's nothing special. There's literally no reason to make a special beer trip out here.“

“Stopped to get dinner and sat at the bar. They had a small sample of draft of mostly macro beers. Their bottle selection was the typical major brands, some imports and a couple craft beers, albeit ones owned by major brewers.“

“They had a variety of local craft beers along with domestic and international beers mostly craft/specialty beers. No AB or Coors/Miller mainstays. The prices were comparable to other locations. They also sold selected singles.“

“Stem and Stein is a beer store and a bar/restaurant. They have about 300 beers for sale, plus about a hundred maybe more that is sold in the bar area for either on-site consumption or to go. The staff was very helpful and the carry out prices were very nice. “

“Rocket Republic’s Brewery and Taproom is open. They have a small sample of their current beers currently on tap (March 26, 2015) but as they are now brewing their beer on site their offerings are expected to increase. The brewery equipment is accessible in the taproom and this will lead to maintaining a very pristine brewing environment. They have capacity for over 90 and will be soon adding food truck options. The staff was very friendly and willing to discuss different aspects of the brewing process.“

“A small wine, beer and liquor store. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The selection off craft beer is small but unique from some of the other local craft beer liquor stores.“

“They have recently added 20 craft beer taps along with having a fair selection of craft beer, especially our local AL brewers. Easy to get in and out as it is right next to the SteakOut restaurant on Shelton.“

“This was the first and LAST time I will ever be going here!! VERY POOR SERVICE! NO HELP AT ALL! Was getting a keg for a friends birthday to celebrate and was told they couldn’t help get it to my car. Woman at the counter had an attitude when I said that it was bullshit that no one could help, even though there WERE other employees there! NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!“

“I agree with everything Magsinva said but would also add they also have 8 taps for growlers although they’re plastic right now and one of the taps was of the Michelob variety they are trying. It’s nice to have an alternative on nights when Stem and Stein decides to be a nightclub.“

“A new shop that’s open in Madison, the selection is heavy on the locals, though they do have a wider selection of craft ranging from sweet water, chimay, heavy seas, Evil twin, etc, with some Belgians to round it out. Hope they continue to build up their craft section.“

“Interesting combo of beer store, restaurant, and bar. Friendly vibe with 11 taps of interesting craft and over 200 bottles. Only two caveats. The prices are a bit much and there’s not enough local stuff although they have a fairly solid selection of regional and national craft. Update 12/27/12. Went back on a Friday night and and am sad to say this place has regressed. The wine shop/restaurant combination just doesn’t works since it leaves little room to browse if the tables are full. The draft list is nowhere near as interesting as before. The singles room also has less to offer even with the introduction of bombers. Unlike most beery places in town they haven’t added more space for beer since the change in bomber law. Definitely not worth driving out from Huntsville for.“

“Obviously built by the same architect that built the other one. It looks like it was built from debris left over after a hurricane. The selection is what you get a typical supermarket down here with the BMC stacked high and deep. They are also competing with Star Market and the Publix on Whitesburg as to who can have the worst pick six in town. Avoid at all costs. Go to the Stem and Stein instead.“

“I was pleasantly surprised by this grocery store. While they do have your typical Bud, Miller, and Coors, they do have some great craft brewers like Bells, Highland, Great Divide, North Coast, and Unibroue. Much better than some of your other shopping options in Madison.“

“The mixed sixer selection is dire. Same selection as the local grocery stores. Slightly grungy store, unfinished particle board on the walls. Very poor choice of beers, one or two local/regional, but you are better off going elsewhere. They put the cider with wine which I thought was weird. They do have some saki, but I can’t tell you if it’s any good, though I doubt it. The mixed sixers what they call "imports" included beers like  yuengling & shock top, which are not imports. They store the beer horizontally like wine. Terrible.“

“They sure do stack the BMC high and deep here but they also have a number of local and regional craft entries from the likes of North Coast, Highland, Yazoo, Terrapin, Unibroue, and Great Divide. They also have a fairly solid pick-six area which means you no longer have to go to Windmill liquor to pick up your beer.“

“What an absolute shithole! It looks like it was built by cut-rate insurance after a really bad storm. The selection, though it has a few crafts, makes Great Spirits look like Total Wine. This may have been a good selection back in the day but they have less stuff then your average Publix. They had the worst pick 6 selection in American History. (apparently they think Yuengling is a foreign beer.) There’s no reason to ever go here unless it’s to abandon a child.“

“Half bar half beer & wine store. They are moving more in the craft beer direction by increasing their number of taps and adding more craft beers to their inventory. The selection has some new to Huntsville brews, so definitely worth a stop on your beer tour of Huntsville. The service was good, though their beer knowledge was somewhat limited.“

“Not the biggest place so seating is difficult most weekend evenings. The last time I was in there they also only had one person running the bar and handling tables so service was a little slow. They always have some locals and regional on tap so that is a bonus. They also have a retail side so if all else fails, you can just grab some to go.“

“Very unexpected in suburban Madison. Great bottled beer selection, 10-15 tap beers. Very small place, can be hard to get a seat. They do take reservations. It’s also a package store so you can get your favorite beer to go. Nice place, would like to see more like this.“

“Neighborhood bar, beer and wine store in a strip center in the far reaches of suburban Madison. About 10-15 taps and hundreds of bottles to select from. You can drink there or take out the bottles to go. Good selection of local Huntsville/AL breweries and American micros on tap. Food is pizza/pub fare mostly. Small bar and seating area-it was very crowded on a Friday night. Good selection of wine also. A bit of a gem for this area.“

“I have family in Madison whom I have been visiting regularly for many years, and this is the beer store closest to their house - since Free the Hops passed, the selection of beer in the state has markedly improved, but they are still limited by bullshit container laws that state that they may not sell beer in anything other than 12 ounce bottles (apparently 375ml bottles are also acceptable), which excludes about 75% of the new and interesting craft beer out there - I don’t have much to compare it to, but this store appears to have a lot of what they can get in the state - they have a handful of the common southern brews, such as terrapin, sweetwater, and highland - they also have Bells beer, including Expedition Stout, which is a huge bonus - AL is still a bit backwards with respect to beer, but this is a fairly respectable store given the circumstances.“

“This is a typical volume retailer of Bud, Coors, and others. They do have some speciality beer, but the selection is nothing special. They can order anything for you, but you will be purchasing the whole order (a case or keg, etc.)“

“Have to agree with Beer and Blues2, on whose recommendation I visited the Windmill. Very good selection ... for Alabama. Lots of singles, including beers by Tucher, Flying Dog, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, and others as well as a vast catalog of your not-so-hard-to-find craft/imports like Guinness, Harp, St. Pauli, Becks, numerous Sam Adams brews, Asahi, etc.“

“As far as the beer buying goes in Huntsville, and Alabama for that matter, this place has one of the largest selections in the state. The staff is friendly and very helpful. You can buy anything as a single.“
