“Located conveniently on Roswell Road just outside I-285, this brewery has a welcoming ambience. It has yet to achieve a lived-in feel, but give it time. Their brews are all above average, very enjoyable, definitely worthy of at least a sip or three. Servers are welcoming and friendly, as well as efficient. You'll want to come here more than once if you live in the Atlanta area!“

“Interior is small - call it cozy. It doesn't yet have a lived-in look, but this is a new place. Servers were alert and welcoming, and helpful when choosing my brews. Food is above average - try the eggplant parmesan. Beers are good, if not spectacular. Support your local brewpub!“

“Typical sports bar vibe, with a ton of taps mainstream taps. Typically don’t find anything rare, but, the selection is solid enough.“

“Your usual Taco Mac, 140 taps - some macro, micro and around 20 locals. They pour nooner size so you can tap 8 on a single evening. Food is fine, big screens playing sports. Sure shot.“

“Large place on the corner at the edge of the Prado complex. Lots of TVs, sports bar atmosphere. Lots of taps, nothing that blew my mind. An OK stop if you’re nearby.“

“Standard sports bar vibe, but clean, open, and inviting. Might as well be wallpapered in TVs. The servers are reasonably attentive, but are pretty unconcerned with the beer. There are a TON of taps, yet still nothing great on. Solid national craft brands, and a pretty good spread of common locals. The food is pretty decent bar food, but nothing astounding. The prices are good, but not great.“

“Visited here in early December ’14. Sports bar, suburban atmosphere, tons of TVs. Huge beer list with plenty of craft selections - many local, regional and national. Well over 100 - both draft and bottle/cans. Huge menu with wings, burgers, burritos, etc. Wait staff is pretty attentive. Only complaint is some of the prices - $6.00 for a local craft lager. Good place to catch a game.“

“Interior is dimly lit, adding to the cozy feel. Furnishings are still new, but given time they will develop a lived-in look. There are tables and booths a-plenty plus a fairly long bar. Selection emphasizes crafts and locals, though they have mostly bottles. Food is above average. Servers are alert and friendly. There are plenty of TVs tuned to sports stations. Good place for a gathering, or to watch a sports event.“

“This place has 68 craft beer on tap, including local Atlanta brews. The food is excellent (if ordering nachos, I recommend sharing with two or more people) and the burgers are great. Their wide selection of beer makes a visit to this place worthwhile.“

“Ambience is sports bar. Loud and tvs eeeerverywhere. My service (out of a sample size of one) was slow... Waitress seemed annoyed. Didn’t want to be there. There was a ton of beers (100+on tap) hi ever about half of them are macros. Lots of lagers and lighter styles of beer. Food was solid. I had a burrito. It wasn’t mind blowing but very good. My wife got some chicken strips which were really good. Value for food is on par. Very good but the beer is insanely overpriced. Locals were 6+ average beer was $6-7 and high abv beers were 8-10 for an 11 oz pour. Overall it was a solidly average place. I believe sports bars and beer bars ought not to mix. I want to chill and have a nice convo where maybe we talk about our beers. This place was loud with people screaming. Beer prices were also way too high. It’s an ok place but I will not be rushing back.“

“Looks like you typical package store that has been around a long time. Though their emphasis is on spirits and wine, they have an impressive beer selection with an emphasis on local craft brews. Their growlers are at J.U.G.S. next door. Service is alert, friendly and helpful. If not an outstanding beer store, a good place to drop in especially if you are seeking something else along with your brewskis.“

“Small as Mellow Mushrooms go, it has the charming art that makes restaurants in this chain so special. Service was not great, but when I visited this joint it was quite busy. Food is very good, no surprise there. Beer selection is not extensive but does emphasize craft brews and locals. Prices are reasonable, and portions will have you asking for a take-out box.“

“Located conveniently in The Prado, it has plenty of parking and plenty of room inside though the bar is not too large. Service is prompt and helpful. Music was a bit loud but did not prevent conversation. Selection is small but includes a few good craft brews. Food is above average. If not a world-class bar, worth a visit or two if you live in hue area.“

“Typical taco Mac setup in that they have a ton of taps, a ton of tv’s, and a ton of space. There’s real quality amongst the taps but there’s a lot of dross as well and they rarely get anything too rare. We got lucky and found parking next tithe restaurant but there a garage nearby as well. The service was attentive but I. Ant speak to any beer wisdom dispensed. I like the wings although they aren’t as slathered in sauce as I’m used to up north. It’s a solid enough place.“

The Savvy Cellars (Beer Store)

“This is a big store, with an open, warehouse, liquor store feel. The wine is laid out nicely on wooden shelves, but the beer is relegated to a couple coolers, about 6 feet of shelves, and 2 stacks of boxes in the floor. The employees were very helpful, although beer is clearly not the focus. I bought some rum, and talk wine with one of the employees, but the beer was hardly worth looking at.“

“Pretty standard sports bar. The service is friendly and prompt, although not terribly knowledgeable about the beer. Surprisingly good selection, with plenty of taps, and a wide range of locals, imports, and quality craft beer. The food is mediocre bar fare. The prices seemed fairly good. They do fill growlers, and the growler prices are excellent. If you are attached to your growler, though, watch out. They might try to switch it out for one of theirs without telling you. Overall, this is not the best beer bar, but worth a stop by, if you’re in the area.“

“Eh, it’s a Taco Mac. Nothing horrible, but nothing great either. Stuffy and totally cookie cutter. There’s plenty of better "beer bars" around.“

“Impressive beer selection. I have noticed that since they started selling growlers (I know, I think they are the only bar in the state that does this) the beer selection has gotten more impressive. I really dig the chill atmosphere and the friendly staff. My favorite place to try something new or sip on a Duchesse!“

“This store is geared more towards wine and liquor than beer, but they have a decent selection of micros, especially the local brews. Beer seems to be an afterthought, but their coolers are quite full, and they don’t have much of the industrial swill - they seem to emphasize Sweetwater and Terrapin. Cashier is quick and efficient, and not over-friendly. This is really more for wine and spirits, but I do on occasion find a "new" beer here.“

“Not really sure if a Trader Joes should be added to rate beer, but I can go ahead and rate it. A large grocery store with a not spectacular selection. Staff are helpful though. Prices are definitely on the lower side. Better places in the area, especially if you are looking for local beer.“

“A nice Taco Mac that is a good place to watch the game. Service can be a bit slow during game time but as to be expected. Food is standard for a Taco Mac. Selection was pretty good but nothing special. For the area pretty good but there is some selection.“

“When you walk in, you know that you’re in a good drinking establishment, neither too pretentious nor too sleazy. It does look a little too much like a chain bar, even though it is a stand-alone tavern. Staff are alert and clearly well-trained, helpful but not too friendly. They have a few TVs, which were off when I was there. Maybe they turn up the volume only during a major sports event such as the Super Bowl. Food is standard but tasty. Beer selection is definitely impressive - mostly good craft brews with an emphasis on the locals. Sure, there are the usual megabrews, but they make up only a small part of the selection. Worth a visit if you live in Atlanta or on the north side of the Atlanta area. Or if you’re visiting.“

“The place is a massive sports bar with tvs everywhere, a massive bar with an egregious selection of beers, and generally only one or two I would like to try or drink. In this case they had 21A’s Bitter American, and it was fresh on draft. The place was huge and the noise just carries and echoes, so it was difficult to carry on a conversation. The service was ok, and the food is typical pub grub. This is one of the better Taco Macs I have been to.“

The Savvy Cellars (Beer Store)
6690 ROSWELL RD, STE 415
“This store is geared towards wine rather than beer; nevertheless, they do have a respectable selection of local craft brews. Sure, there’s some industrial mega-brewed swill - but enough local craft beer to merit a visit if you’re in the neighborhood. Employees were scarce when I went in, but the man at the cash register was efficient and nice. Prices appeared to be reasonable, not cheap but not outrageous. Since I initially rated this, their beer selection has definitely improved. Recommended if you live and/or work in Sandy Springs, or are visiting.“

“The beer list is pretty freakin phenomenal - that’s why you come here. Food and atmosphere are very cookie-cutter-big-sports-bar and service ranged from pretty surly to ambivalent. Caveat: if your mission is to find an awesome beer selection and watch the game on a TV built into your booth - as mine was - it’s a perfect fit“

“I went there to make my first purchase of beer on Sunday in Georgia. What better way to celebrate the end of that stupid "blue law"? Their selection is very good, and you can mix-and-match your own six-pack. I saw only one big brand, Guinness; the rest are craft brews. The service people are well-trained, quick, efficient, and friendly. They know how to make you feel welcome without overdoing it. Maybe their selection is not the best in town, but their prices are reasonable.“

Royal Package Store (Beer Store)
5325 ROSWELL RD
“This is really your typical neighborhood liquor store. Their emphasis is on hard liquor rather than beer or wine; still, they have a decent selection of local craft brews and imports. At least a third of their beer display is taken up by the big industrial brews, but they still have a respectable variety of craft brews, including the locals - Sweetwater, Terrapin, Red Brick - and some out-of-state breweries such as New Belgium. If you’re expecting another Hop City, you will be disappointed, but if all you need is a six pack of something decent for home consumption or a party, they are certainly acceptable. Service was lukewarm, but I did get checked out quickly.“

“Hmm -- swear I’ve entered comments here before. Anyway .. This is one of my favorite stops when in ATL on business, mostly because of proximity. The place boasts a massive selection of beer, and can be a great place to tally up some regionals for the out-of-the-area visitor. The food is pretty standard American chain restaurant fare, but is good enough.“

“A great place to try out a huge variety of beer. Many on tap (150+) and many more bottles (200+). The oven roasted wings are the absolute only way to eat chicken wings. The bartenders are relatively knowledgeable about the beer as well. Great bar. Highly recommended.“

“Bright, clean dining room. Several staff members there to greet you immediately. Great beer selection upstairs (I didn’t get to visit downstairs!) although stuck mostly to Lagunitas IPA and Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’. Server was always present for refills but not over bearing. Food is typical Taco Mac fair - decent. Cool place to hang out.“

“My score is based on both the Taco Mac Prado and the bar "The Fred" downstairs which I was told should both be included in the same rate. Upstairs was the nicest and newest Taco Mac I’ve been to. Service was very good, staff was very knowlegable. Food is basic American fare nothing crazy but good. Tap selection is amazing with some real treats on. The best part of the place by far is a "secret" bar downstairs called The Fred. To get there you have to go around the back, down a ramp to a non descript service entrance and ring a bell. A locked door then opens and inside is a very nice, small bar. The bar inside seems very high end but casual, very reminiscent of a speakeasy. Much smaller selection of taps then upstairs but they have some really good ones on and they are about the same price as you’d pay upstairs. Really a great place.“

“Been here a few times, but never got around to rating it on here. They have a pretty decent beer selection that seems to be updated occasionally. The food is decent and the atmosphere is definitely local. There is an area to sit that is "smoke-free" section, but the bar along with the restrooms are in the "smoking area." You probably won’t be able to find anything here that you can’t find at a more convenient Tacomac.“

“This Taco Mac just opened so I decided to pay a visit. Service was good - the waitstaff was well-trained, and they did their best for being rather busy, keeping me informed about the progress of my dinner. They brought my beer promptly and the food in a decent amount of time. Their selection of beer is first-rate, with a lot of micros and imports in bottles and on-tap. You can join the Brewniversity, which is to encourage you to try different beers (and then rate them on RateBeer.com!) and rewards you when you reach certain levels. The Prado is very convenient, so I hope this Taco Mac does plenty of business.“
