68 /100 MYRTLE FARM, STATION ROAD Small shop kind of separate to the main production area, accessible from the road with small car park. Has the appearance and feel of a small farm shop. All current bottles available, plus merch and a few other items such as cheese and Cheddar ales. Behind the main counter area is a row of barrels with their still ciders, which you can fill with your own or their containers. A couple of locals were doing just that when we were there. From here you don't really see, or get a feel of Thatcher's cider production. It's just the shop. But further down the road you can book a tour of the factory, and a little further from there you can visit Thatcher's own pub with the shiny new production site viewable behind. There is a public footpath which winds around the site, if open. On our visit it was closed due to ongoing expansion. |
76 /100 MYRTLE FARM, STATION ROAD This a review for the shop next to the cidery. Full range of Thatchers ciders available and bottled local real ales. Cider available on tap, discount provided if filling a previously used container, so keep hold of the one they give you for subsequent visits |
