“Popped in for a beer on 15th April 2022. Long narrow pub, a little dark. Decor is shabby chic, nice comfy sofas at front of pub to watch world go by. 2 gravity casks although only Otter Amber on menu. Kegs from Quantock and Butcombe plus lots of boxed ciders. Service friendly. Prices OK. Handy stop off near station“

“Three room corner pub near Someret County Cricket ground. 6 to 8 cask ales on offer, mostly from local breweries. Nice outside space out the back. My ’go to’ place for a beer when in Taunton“

“Long, narrow pub near the station. A couple of other rooms out the back. Only 2 or 3 cask beers usually on offer, but the selection of ciders is impressive - 15+. Can get busy, noisy at times and the layout often means it’s a bit of a scrum at the bar“

“What on earth has happened to this place?! Used to be clean with a warm welcome and huge selection. 3 mediocre beers and 8 ciders in boxes. Barmaid didn’t know what was what or if they did food or where glasses were kept. Sadly in decline. Not worth the walk from the station Date of visit 11/09/16“

“Visited April 2015. Long and narrow pub that is a short walk from the railway station. The selection of beers was pretty solid and the local cider selection impressive. Busy on a Friday evening, with a friendly atmosphere and efficient staff.“

“Brimming with well-to-do’s meets artsy folk and local larrikins, this cosy Inn is often alive with the noise of banter and laughter. A maze of rooms lead off the very thin long bar that runs the length of the main room. Up stairs to a room with a lot of vintage artwork. Postcards, memorabilia, posters, cartoons both political and apolitical, reserved and incorrect but worth a pint or two of time to read them all. Beer on handpumps are usually local being Cotleigh and Bath which dominate with the odd addition of Exmoor, Otter and others. Well worth it more for the local Somerset cidery’s with their ciders in polypins lined up on the back wall. Toilet up a steep flight of steps though is a bit of a challenge after a few pints of Scrumpy. Lovely place!“
