“This is a delightful pub in a beautiful etting, but a bit of a walk from the car park as you need to go over the river bu a footbridge then over the Churnett Valley Herotage Railway via 2 gates. There is a decent range of ales and ciders, and we chose Falstaff Arnott which was fine.“

“Lovely setting in the Churnet Valley, next to the preserved Churnet Valley railway station of Consall. The canal also runs by and the only road is the one down to the pub at the bottom of the valley. It’s like travelling back in time! A decent selection of ales and you can enjoy your beer with chickens milling around in the beer garden. Avoid on hot Sundays, it’s a haven for folk chucking themselves in the river and more boisterous than usual.“
