“This place has been sold, and so is no longer associated with Calvors Brewery; the brewery is still open, just down the road a piece. This place did have a handful of local cask beer, tasty food and good service.“

“A little bit literally around the houses on the much less urban eastern side of the railway line, it is signposted off the main A14 road that passes and serves the small town further east of this Farm Shop. There's a fair amount of parking once you've driven up the straight entrance road, and you'll walk through some pottery and garden furniture items for sale before you enter the shop proper. Here there's all manor of produce with the local beers and ciders all clumped together in one area, which is worth a look - you'll find traditional bottle and new brewer cans from Suffolk here, albeit not an extensive selection.“

“Went here and I think I missed the best beer days here. Selection was small, I was able to get a couple new beers however I would not if I went back today. Best to keep to local farmers markets as they usually have brewery stalls.“

“Visited 31/10/2020. Had often thought to visit but never had until now. Quite disappointing selection beer now, only around 15 beers, generally quite mainstream local stuff, nothing I’d not had before and nothing like what they had before. Expensive but quality looking foods. Quite a small place. There are better farm shops around (and I don’t mean Jimmy’s).“

“Visited 12/04/19. Won't add too much to the previous review other than to say the food was very nice but the beer selection has reduced. Around 15 beers from local breweries, Earl Soham, Suffolk Quay and St Peter's. Then a couple of ciders and some Gosnells mead. Looks like the wider selection wasn't selling so it's been reduced.“

“Visited 12/04/19. With my wife on bridesmaid duties I was left to my own devices. Only a farm shop was listed under Needham Market for Places so I was pleased to see that there was a pub run by a micro. When I told the receptionist at the Travel Lodge that I was coming here her face fell and she recommended the Greene King pub across the road. A small pub, accessed via a door at the rear of the building. I suspect that the receptionist's reaction was because she knew the average age of the punter was 50+ and she was thinking I was going out on the lash. Very much a locals pub, noisy with conversation. 6 of their own beers on keg plus 4 macro kegs. 2 of the 4 hand pulls were on, 1 of their beers and Nethergate Sussex County. Staff were reasonably helpful but got the impression that they were used to mainly serving regulars. Standard pub decor. Not a special pub by any means, however decent enough for a a small place like Needham Market and a place for ticks. Prices weren't too bad, around £3.50 a pint.“

“It;s a Farm-Shop-That-Has-Grown-Into-A-Tourist-Attraction - as well as the large farm shop, there’s a selection of craft shops, a (small and not very good) playground, a cafe, a nature trail, and a smattering of farm animals. In other words, you can take the family there and there’s plenty for them to do whilst you browse the beer selection. Which is, of course, what you really want to know about. It’s in racks at the back of the farm shop, and there’s a decent range of beers from a wide selection of local breweries - you’re almost certain to pick up a tick here. More surprisingly, there’s also a smattering of German, Belgian and US beers too - nothing too unusual, but they’re not your standard supermerket ones at least. Overall the place feels like quite a bit of money was spent on it a couple of years ago, but it’s now just starting to slide into the early stages of decay - I suspect it’s struggling to compete with the huge investment that’s been ploughed into Jimmy’s Farm (ugh!) and the impressive Suffolk Food Hall, both not too far away. Nevertheless, if you’re passing (is it only just off of the A14), it’s certainly worth dropping in.“
