76 /100 Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Store (Beer Store) 4 DRAYMAN SQUARE Very nice modern retail space with a broad range of booze from Adnams and their various partners and some helpful staff. |
70 /100 Sole Bay Inn (Bar) EAST GREEN, SOUTHWOLD Small pub in the middle of Southwold, decent food (including on our visit a proper veggie alternative for fish and chips) and fresh Adnams beer. |
62 /100 Sole Bay Inn (Bar) EAST GREEN, SOUTHWOLD Small but particularly busy pub that is almost part of the Adnams brewery site, there are fork lift trucks and brewery activity going on nearby and the lighthouse is just outside. It's a foodie pub catering for the visitors to town and the brewery. All the beers were Adnams. It's worth a look. |
68 /100 Lord Nelson, Southwold (Bar) 42 EAST STREET As with the rest of Southwold this is an Adnams House in Adnamstown. They used to do food in here but post Covid that has gone and it is wet only and all the better for it. The full current range is on with trips to the cellar to fill the glasses taking place. It's friendly and comfortable even if it is mostly geared for holiday makers. It's a proper pub. |
60 /100 Sole Bay Inn (Bar) EAST GREEN, SOUTHWOLD Corner pub by the lighthouse with an 'L' shaped bar towards the front, with seating mostly around the exterior walls. It's quite small for the crowds Southwold gets in the summer - perhaps quieter seasons would make this a slightly more comfortable place to frequent. It has cask and a keg from Adnams brewery just across the road. |
60 /100 Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Store (Beer Store) 4 DRAYMAN SQUARE In one of the few modern built shops just off the high street and opposite the museum, it's a well laid out large room selling its beers and ciders at the front plus current specials. Spirits, wines and brewery merchandise are situated towards the rear. |
68 /100 Sole Bay Inn (Bar) EAST GREEN, SOUTHWOLD Upmarket, clean pub clearly catering for well heeled tourists. A decent range of Adnams cask & keg on offer, served in good nick as I would have expected. There wasn't much soul to the place though |
56 /100 Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Store (Beer Store) 4 DRAYMAN SQUARE Adnams brewery shop in Southwold, a warehouse style place. Sells their own bottled range, also merch, wines, spirits, kitchenware & giftware. It’s not cheap, just there to bleed the tourists and you can’t blame them really. Picked up 3 or 4 bottles of their beers that I’d not tried before |
24 /100 Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Store (Beer Store) 4 DRAYMAN SQUARE A new style adams shop, I rated it on its beer selection, which is small, and 99% adnams. It’s also a well stocked wine and spirits outlet, with lots of adnams merch available too |
58 /100 Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Store (Beer Store) 4 DRAYMAN SQUARE Slick, large and bright: moved here from smaller premises just down the road a few years ago. Stocks all Adnams beers along with their wine and spirits collection. Loads of Adnams merchandise like shirts and ties, etc, etc as well kitchen stuff such as spoons and pans. Bloody expensive, even with 15% off if you are an Adnams shareholder! |
46 /100 Sole Bay Inn (Bar) EAST GREEN, SOUTHWOLD Been using this bar for many years and watched it change from a locals bar full of laughter and fishermen artifacts to a visitor, foody, minimalistic, cafe style place. As I write this it is again closed for another make-over. Beers from Adnams are of course fresh, as it’s only across the road from the brewery. I just hope it is going to be re-invented as a proper pub again and not a bright ’fish and chip palace’ for young parents and their children. Scored fairly, as it was on 3rd Jan 2015. |
58 /100 Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Store (Beer Store) 4 DRAYMAN SQUARE Glass fronted large brewery shop near the Adnams brewery. Stocks all their bottled beers alongside their spirit selection and a handful of other beers and spirits. Sells mini-kegs and boxes of Adnams beers so if you want to buy bulk it’s pretty good. Also sells kitchen items and kitchen ware. On the basis that most people will visit wanting to buy Adnams stuff I can’t really fault it. |
44 /100 Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Store (Beer Store) 4 DRAYMAN SQUARE Rather a smart shop near the Adnams Brewery in Southwold. It mostly goes in for up market cooking equipment and the like, but the Adnams bottled beer range can be bought. Quite expensive and a bit supermarket like. |
64 /100 Sole Bay Inn (Bar) EAST GREEN, SOUTHWOLD Adnams pub next to the brewery with several Adnams cask ales and a couple on keg. Beers were very fresh and well conditioned, as one would expect next to the brewery. Service is very good and food is also good fare at decent prices. Interior is light and modern. One of the better pubs on my visit to Southwold and a good Adnams pub. |
62 /100 Sole Bay Inn (Bar) EAST GREEN, SOUTHWOLD Very clean pub that looks quite new inside. Some maritime theme. 7 casks (Adnams), 4 taps of other beers and 1 tap of cider. OK service. |
