Seasons Farm Shop (Grocery Store)
LAVERSHOT BARNS, LONDON ROAD
“Very modern building. Was surprised that they had a good range of Surrey beers, and Belgium beers. But the best part was to see 4 Canadian beers. “

Seasons Farm Shop (Grocery Store)
LAVERSHOT BARNS, LONDON ROAD
“What was a ramshackle garden centre and other businesses on what was presumably a former farm has been redeveloped. The buildings are now a combination of wood clad new builds and the old farm buildings which are probably classed a shabby if not that chic. As well as Seasons Kitchen & Farm Shop there is a Lakeland, a pet shop, a kitchen shop and a couple of other businesses. I added the Farm Shop separately to Seasons Kitchen because they are in separate buildings. The shop is not massive but is split into a few different areas, i.e. bakery (not a particularly impressive selection), veg, etc. All rather compact. The booze section is in the left hand corner and is surprisingly good, including the usual local breweries (Hogs Back, Crafty, Dorking) but also expanding to include craft (Phantom, Electric Bear, Collective Arts), a few German beers and a few more Belgian beers. Their website mentions an in house sommelier who at one point owned Cotsleigh brewery. A couple of own branded cans from Two Tribes. One was presumably a rebadged Metrolands. Due to the lack of choice in Surrey this place has got to be in the top 5 of beer shops. Staff were personable. But it did seem cramped and whatever social distancing measures were in place were not obvious.“

“A decent little country pub. I visited during a mate’s wedding party so I had an atypical experience - but a positive experience none the less. It’s a big place with lots of seating options and a nice outdoor area in the back. I gather on normal days the selection boasts mostly the classics, i.e. not much for the tickers. Nice ambiance, friendly staff. Perhaps worth a visit if you’re in Windlesham but certainly not a destination in and of itself.“

Half Moon (Bar)
CHURCH ROAD
“Traditional English countryside pub with separate restaurant area. Very friendly welcome and service overall. The food menu looked tasty yet unimaginative. The beer menu... Well it has 6 lagers, Guiness, Strongbow, London Pride and 4 English ales. Nothing special, no Dark Star. Unlucky? Not a beer destination at all but also not a bad pub at all.“

“Great village local with large L shaped room around the bar and a separate restaurant room. Large beer garden with kids play area, some 25 or more benches. 7 hand pulled real ales usually available with Sharps Doom Bar being an ever present and more often than not Theakston - Old Peculier and Dark Star - Hophead. Regular guest ales from the surrounding counties and expect to find 3 or 4 from Palmers, Andwell, Windsor & Eton, Dark Star, Fullers, Hogs Back, Dorking, Longdog and others. Food is first rate here and the fortnightly Wednesday all you can eat curry night is a must!“
