| 34 /100 One Eyed Stag (Bar) 5 THE SQUARE “Had been looking forward to trying this place for a while, and took the opportunity after a Whickham FC match. Very busy, with many customers appearing to have been out all day, following the Rugby World Cup final, A noisy crowd. Barmaid was somewhat overwhelmed, it took a long time to get served, and she eventually had to call for help. Beer choice was uninspiring. Three from Corby, (one unavailable), three from GNEBC. Had a pint of the latter brewery's DELTA. Not in great condition. I was with Mal, my regular drinking buddy with whom I have often enjoyed a pint of Delta. We agreed that this was the worst example we had ever come across. Our second pint of Corby Brown was a little better. Have to say the prices were reasonable, but overall, a disappointing experience we're unlikely to repeat. A shame, 'cos the footy was great!“ |
