“Medium sized store which has couple of hundred beers to offer. Decent range of Cloudwater, some local beers, imports are some usual Belgian beers and core range US beers from various breweries. Was lucky to find Titanic Plum Porter Grand Reserve Port Infused. OK for a quick visit.“

“On our list of heritage pubs, visited round noon and we were the first guests. The main rooms doesn't look that spectacular, few interesting details and a nice swan artwork on a ceiling. Several more rooms are around the back, fireplace and an organ. I can imagine it can be cozy in the back unlike the bit cold main room. Selection is somewhat limited since there were only 4 or 5 cask beers available. Quality was OKish to good. Worth checking out for the interior.“

“Really stepped their craft game up the last few months, and looking to expand further. Range is growing and several US breweries if not heard of. Prices are reasonable.“

“Reasonable bottle shop adjacent to Ma Pardoes. Worth a look if in the neighbourhood for some Black Country bottles, otherwise better choices in the area exist.,“

“Wonderful heritage pub, you don’t visit here for the beer (although you don’t see it much elsewhere), which is generally old fashioned. But then so is the building, which is spectacular and an essential visit for anybody into bar history.“

“A classic multi room Victorian pub packed with locals from a bygone age. Great food I hear and super service. The five beers I had were all excellent. A typical walk in history lesson, especially the bar at the front. A must visit location for any Ratebeerian. Places like this are why I enjoy ticking.“

“Visited during the Black Country pub crawl organized by SarkyNorthener, RichTheVillan and jmgreenuk. Beautiful front room with wood paneling painted red. You can order your beers there and take them outside to the much more modern and larger side room, complete with a church organ. The modern bit also has two characterful snugs, one marked as a Smokers Room. Five of their beers were all very tasty. Great place.“

“Right next door to Ma Pardoes (Olde Swan). Good selection of about 20 ciders. A small selection of mainstream craft american beers and a small selection of Belgian beers. However there are lots of beers from the local area snd neighbouring counties as well as Cornwall. Very good place for local microbrewery rates. The guy who runs the place was also very friendly and seemed on first name terms with all his customers.“

“One of only four brewpubs left remaining that were in existence in 1974, therefore this is one of those historic pubs to visit. The interior has a wonderful traditional feel to it with a hefty church organ in the main room. Beer in great condition consisting of Entire, original, dark and Bumblehole on permenant and one seasonal. Good place.“

“Nice shop, right next to Ma Pardoes. Lots of bottles, mostly UK trad breweries. Great range of Coastal, Salopian, Oakham, Sam Smiths. Well worth stopping by. Good prices too.“

“Re -visited in March 2018 and wow what a change. Now around 800 bottles and cans from across the world. Excellent selection of Americans plus Australia and a much expanded home grown range. The service is as friendly as ever and the prices are good but expect to spend a bit as the selection is now the best for many a mile. A must visit if you are in the area.“

“Another cracking Black Country boozer. Only Olde Swan ales on this visit and no guest beers. The beer was in unbeatable condition, so smooth and well conditioned. Again visit to see how pubs used to be. Statue of Jumpin Joe Darby opposite.“

“A wonderful place of history. Both bar, lounge, restaurant and all the nooks and crannies in-between drip with Victoriana. Beers brewed on site are traditional so don’t expect anything exciting but it all works so well for this throwback. Definitely a showpiece pub of the Black Country along with the Beacon Hotel. The restaurant is a real hidden gem so book to avoid disappointment as those in the know use it often...“

“A cracking old pub on the main road in Netherton, buses stop outside if you’re on a tour of the area. One big room as you enter and more around the back. Real classic feel to the pub and one of the only outlets for Ma Pardoes beers. Service was quick despite having 2 busloads of thirsty folk descend on the pub. Beer was in good nick, not overly exciting but definitely a good traditional venue and one I’ve been to a few times over the years “

“A couple of doors down from the Olde Swan this had a decent range of local ale in bottles. Salopian featured as did beers from other breweries with a definite leaning toward real ale and not craft stufff. Staff were friendly and helpful and prices decent. Worth having a look around as might be something rare worth picking up“
