“Newly re-opened restaurant and microbrewery in the charming historic city centre of Esslingen, about half an hours train ride from Stuttgart. Situated in one of the many lovely timber-framed houses a short stgroll from the central square. The restaurant is on two levels, one ground-floor and one in a historic vaulted cellar. Food is freshly prepared from local ingredients and the menu includes a lot of Swabian classics, including Wurstsalat, spätzle, Zwiebelrostbraten and a lot more. Everything our group tasted was presented nicely and tasted really delicious. About 10 beers on the menu, mostly tap, some bottled. Unfortunately, only two are brewed on the premises, the Märzen and the Bock, the others are Meckatzer from the Allgäu region. Staff are very friendly and quick. Don't miss out if you are in the area!“

“Visited on 14th July 2016. A 10 min walk from the station through the park get a you to this spot. 2 rooms upstairs, nice decoration and lots of dark wood. Downstairs there are 2 more rooms not in normal use but same high quality decor. Beer quality was decent. Service good. Only one of the party ate and it looked good. Prices were good value. Really nice spot.“
