“We visited here 03.07.21, we had cycled from the campsite nr Mittenwald. I have to say that we stumbled across this place as it is in Partenkirchen in the old main street part of town. It is a little confusing because I had been to Bieraterie last year, however that was at the old location. It has now moved to this new location, confusingly it is still on the same street. Previously (see other entry) it was on a busier section of Ludwigstrasse slightly closer to Garmsich and much busier and in a section that would eventually turn into Bahnhofstrasse. Back to this new location, it is easy to walk or cycle to and even driving there are parking areas a short distance away, I would say that depending on whereabouts in Garmisch you are it is about 20-25 mins walk to get here, the railway station being closer, maybe 15-20min. Regarding the shop itself, this is a really nice place, the shop appears to be shared premises, the left-hand side I think sells soaps and this part sells beer (craft beer), I think that thy are sisters, and it was the other sister who we met last year. We spent about 20 mins in here and chatted to the owner, her English was great, her knowledge of beer was also great. This site is considerably bigger than the last, and I suspect that they could get more beers in here. The beer selection is modest but well-chosen, a few Belgian classics, a few UK beers but then mostly German, Austrian, and with some Croatian (Garden), Hungarian (Mad Scientist) beers also in and amongst. The German beers are mostly craft-focused but there are a few well-selected and highly regarded classics, there is also a broad range of styles so for those in search of an interesting Eisbock or rarer barrel-aged Weizenbock you won't be disappointed. I liked this place, I much prefer the location, I like the additional space, it is a really nice area and there will almost certainly be something for everyone here, and as mentioned the owner knows her onions.“

“We visited here Saturday 3rd July 2021 after a cycle ride from Mittenwald and short walk from Partenkirchen. This place is easy to find, it's on a main road Bahnhofstraße and as the name implies it's not far from the station. It's a cool little hangout, we sat outside, the decor is quirky but really nice. There are about 5-6 tables outside and a similar amount inside. Okay onto the beer, sadly things have changed since the previous review, there are now just two beers, both from Erding, Stiftungs Bräu Helles and Erdinger Weisse. However don't let this lack of choice deter you, the food is simple but really fresh and tasted great, we both had an avocado salad type thing, it was really nice. Would definitely return here, cool vibes and out of the tourist areas of town.“

“We visited here Friday 12th June 2020, we were staying at Camping Resort Zugspitze at Grainau. This was a great little find, it's central but sort of down a backstreet, all of the outside tables were full so we sat inside. There was quite a bit of memorabilia around including old brewerania, old skiing stuff, the one Ayinger image of a woman shows how far we've come from the sexist imagery of yesteryear. We ate here as well, the 'presumably' husband and wife couple worked so hard, they did everything. Beers were great, we had the usual i.e. Hefe-Weisse and Dunkel Weizen, beer very good and food (salads) were huge and excellent.“

“We visited here Thursday 11th June 2020 lunchtime/early afternoon. It's close to the centre, just a little to the east of the main shopping streets, I guess it's actually closer to the train station. It's a modern place, lots of glass, steel and concrete, looks cool though. You enter and immediately head up a few stairs to the first floor, and their is brewing equipment on view as well as seating here. Unfortunately we were unable to sit outside at the rear as there was a private function, this was a shame as it was a nice day and the rear area would have been in sunshine and likely afforded a wonderful view of the mountains. We sat at the front outside in the shade instead. The beer was fine without really being anything to get excited about, their were three beers available as I recall. The service was friendly and swift. I don't think that there would be disabled access here but I may be wrong. It's clearly pitching itself at a younger crowd, maybe? It's worth a visit and like the previous poster indicates having a brewpub is probably a long while overdue in Garmisch.“

“After almost 50 years Garmisch-Partenkirchen finally gets a Brewpub. A brand new and modern place. Food is a modern upscale Bavarian fair. Has three self brewed beers on tap with one being a seasonal. A good selection of unusual bottled beers as well. With an additional Tap beer.“

“Classical german drinks market (Getränkemarkt). Friendly staff and a lot of german, especially bavarian beer. Not so many craft beers. No hypermodern bottle-shop, but authentic bavarian flair. Also a good possibility to return Pfand-bottles.“

“We hiked this ’Almhütte’ on 11.3.2017. From Garmisch you walk between 30-40 min and you reach this wonderful place. Not a real beer place, but amazing that such a small chalet with an outstanding view to the valley and Zugspitze has 10 bottled beers. 4 beers from Paulaner including Salvator, 4 beers from Löwenbräu and the Hacker Kellebier + a Radler. We did not eat but food menu looked great: Dampfnudeln and some other regional specialities. If you are in this area and the weather is good you must hike this trail, not just for the beers.“

“We came here on 11.3.2017. Large Bräustübel with several rooms. Good mix of locals and tourists. Seems to be extremely popular. They have all König Ludwig on tap, all in good quality. Service was extremely professional and the duck with potato dumplings I had was outstanding. Absolutely recommendable.“

“We came here 10.3.2017. A very small place decorated with many metal brewery signs and memorabilia of the Olympic Games in 1936. Unfortunately they do not have the Schloderer beers anymore, as the quality has become too unstable. Now they are serving Tegernseer Helles and Paulaner Weissbier. Very good tapping quality. Very friendly atmosphere and nice cosy ambience. As mentioned in a review before in the evening a reservation is recommended due to the small capacity.“

“Also called Josef-Naus Stub’n, this place can be entered through the hotel, or through a separate entrance. Diagonal street parking. One hausbier, and some Tegernsee and Fransizkaner. Food was outstanding, far more creative than most german places. Service was equally stellar. Have a special evening meal here.“

“This place looked closed on a Monday afternoon, but the door was unlocked so we peeked in to find one couple sipping beer, one waiter, and all the lights off. Nonetheless, the waiter cheerily served us a couple of Paulaner beers - a roggenbier and an alt - and we were glad to have a change from the dreaded helles-dunkel-weizen trio of monotony. All kinds of weird stuff on the walls - a dear head wearing a cowbell, a stuffed pig flying over the manger-like music stage - as well as a whole bunch of neat old photos. Food menu looked more extensive than most other places. I would retun in the evening and try a meal, with or without music.“

“Attractive place near the center of Partenkirchen. It looked closed when we approached, and it was a Monday, so we feared the dreaded ruhetag. But then we saw one guy sitting by himself in an isolated corner or the biergarten (outdoors on a balmy 16 C / 60 F February day). So we ventured inside and easily tracked down the landlord who happy poured us two Mittenwalder beers - a helles and a bock, very tasty. Kitchen looked closed, so maybe it was a rest day, not sure. Spacious interior, but the place to be is the cozy biergarten with a great view of the mountains and a fountain in the middle. I would return here to try the food and more Mittenwald beers.“

“This is a regular drinks market, about a 10 minute walk (or very short drive) from the center of town. Small parking lot. Large store, L-shaped with beers on both sides. The two special things they had were some large format bottle from Schneider Weisse, and a pale ale and two other non-German styles from Schlossbrauerei Au called the Hopfull series. Haven’t tried them yet, but I’m hopeful, nyuck, nyuck. Staff was helpful, and did pretty well in English. Typical German prices, a case of 20 single bottles was 20 Euro. Worth a look.“

“Large place. One drinking hall to the left, larger one to the right with a neat old ceramic heater/stove. Kids in costumes and musicians paraded through at one point. Three or four Koenig Ludwig beers on draft, others in bottles. Food was very tasty. Efficient and pleasant service, quiet atmosphere on a Sunday night. Worthwhile stop.“

“Tiny place. Fills quickly, but you can reserve tables - there aren’t many. Bar has about eight stools. Just one Schloderer on tap, but it was the best dunkel (of four) we had that day. Proprietress made us feel right at home. Handful of other beers on draft, including Tegensee, and in bottles. Food we saw was flammkuchen and sandwiches. Nice place.“

“This place is The Only Pub worth visiting in Garmisch-Partenkirchen! The staff, owner and regulars make you instantly feel like family. All speak fluent German and English so whether you’re a local or just visiting, the conversations and service make it feel like home. Although they don’t serve food, you can order pizza or other great Italian dishes from next door at Renzo’s and eat it there! Visit The Irish Pub next time you’re in Garmisch to watch your favorite sporting event or check out their excellent Live Music schedule for an awesome musical experience!“

“Went here on Monday 28th May 2012. This place is quite centrally located and drew our attention owing to a huge straight tree trunk that looked like the largest ever maypole you are likely to see, this was situated at the front in the garden seating area and really was staggeringly tall and impressive. The beer was good, it is an Augustiner pub, I had Edelstoff. Very quiet when we went here as it was between lunch time and early evening and was a very wet day, however a couple were eating and the food looked good, this place has about 3-4 rooms as I recall and can accommodate quite a large crowd. Would happily visit here again if in the area.“

“We visited here on Monday 28th May 2012, this could be described as kitsch and a tad over the top but the locals and staff were all in Leiderhosen and Dirndl and having a good time despite it being relatively quite as today was a public/bank holiday. I have listed this as a restaurant but it is also a hotel and bar, a bit of everything really. The beers are from Paulaner and I had the Maibock but there was a good selection on offer with many of the Paulaner beers available. Great to sit outside people watching but when a full house in the evening I guess the people watching would be equally as good. Worth going to if in town.“

“I got excited about this when the Lonely Planet described it as a Bavarian Brewpub, how had this been missed from Ratebeer and other websites I thought, alas the Lonely Planet was quite wide of the mark, though the rest of the description was spot on. We visited here Monday 28th May 2012, the beers were from Die König Ludwig and it appeared to have much of the range. We ate here and whilst the food was typically pork orientated it was decent enough and flavoursome, though the plate of sliced processed pork and raw onions swimming in a vinegar that Loz ordered did make me chuckle a little, still she enjoyed them and despite the huge amount she ate most of them, only a number of pesky flies where we were sat were a downside. Enjoyable place that I could imagine would be cracking in the height of the ski season, I would be sat around the large enamel coal burning stove inside though in the depths of the winter.“
