“Hotel-restaurant-gastette, their one Landbier is no longer made on premises, instead it’s contracted to Staffelberg-Bräu and comes across as what you expect from Staffelberg: limp, dull, syrupy.“

“Open occasionally to locals, your best bet is to call ahead to arrange a visit. The beer is oddly served from 5 L minikeg, no draft system or gravity barrels here. The brewer sells a lot of these kegs online, shipping more beer out of the brewery than he seems to sell in house. It’s a fascinating facility and the brewer is a wonderful host. He doesn’t keep brewing for profit, but to uphold the tradition that will surely soon die... another town brewer lost in an age where Franconians don’t care. The family breweries in Oberfranken are dwindling. The Seelmann beer was decent, but suffered from being under-carbonated and under-hopped, but it’s served in an ungespundet way, so it’s somewhat acceptable. Still it’s a bit of a dull beer. Funny enough, the brewer mentioned that he used to brew a hoppier version but the locals found it unpleasant!“
