“What a nice place! One tap and two bottles of their own beer, nothing more. The food is certainly above average. And dead cheap. Slowish service but no surprise, considering how busy it is with people arriving every minute or so. I’ll be back.“

“This place has three rooms - a small one, quite traditional and dark, and two bigger, brighter rooms with lots of tables to sit at. Seemed very popular with the locals (visited on an early Wednesday evening) and for good reason too as the food was hearty and plentiful and the one beer they pour, a Dunkles Märzen, is particularly moreish stuff. Prompt and friendly service, very cheap prices and free wifi as well. Bischberg, Weiher and Lisberg are all in the vicinity, so it's smack in the middle of a very nice village crawl. Definitely recommended.“

“Visited this place on an early Friday noon - the town looked deserted but this place was packed, with mostly elderly local patrons having lunch and enjoying the variety of beers this place has to offer (basically all of their standard offerings and specials plus one or two seasonals). Small pours are available and the beers are some of the best Franconia has to offer if you ask me. The interior has lots of dark wooden panelling contrasted by a whitewashed ceiling and lack of clutter, giving it a modern yet homely atmosphere. Waitress was very friendly and the food was plentiful and cheap. Made acquaintances with the guys from the neighbouring table and spent the next couple of hours drinking myself through the beer menu and playing cards. An easy 30-minute cycle from Bamberg and definitely worth the visit!“

“A bit hard to get here for my 800th place rating. Bus runs on school days, otherwise a 2.6 km walk from Viereth, a pretty walk but 33 C today. Tons of beers on tap, and more in the bottle. The menu only lists half liter pours, but they will do 300 ml without complaint. Lovely garden, though the manure smell was a bit strong. Great place.“

“Travelled here via Bus 906 from Bamberg. 2/4 per hour of this service go to Trosdorf Industriegebiet (last stop on the route). Then a 20 minute walk along the path (mainly being used by cycles). Visited on a hot day and enjoyed the bier vom Fass along with a salad. Sat outside under a large awning. Fairly busy on a weekday lunchtime.“

“Quaint farm brewery, boutique hotel and restaurant in a village about 12min from Bamberg center. Not much happening in town, so you can’t miss it. Very traditional vibe, service is friendly and prompt. All Weiherer beers on tap, at least a dozen and well priced. The food is cheap and of a high quality. More farmer’s fare than high cuisine, but it’s exactly what you want. I loved this place and would absolutely return.“

“Brewery and restaurant in a small hamlet near Bischberg. Visited during lunchtime - delicious and well crafted local food, e.g. Braumeisterschnitzel with beer and onion sauce, beer mustard and homemade potato salad. Superb value for money. Cosy outside seating, modern inside. There is also a shop on the premises selling the whole range of Weiherer beers, inclusing some special beers like summer ale or Weizenbock and 5l minikegs. Friendly service, delicious food, lovely atmosphere and superb beer - what more can you wish for?“

“Fantastic place! 8 beers on tap + 8 in bottles. All drafts were real good with Urstoffla being a clear champion. Their Lager, Keller & Rauch also were top notch - one of the best in this extremely competitive region. Bottled stuff was good too with great champions: Weizenbock, Bourbon Bock and... IPA!!! The later one was a great surprise for this very traditional beer-region. Definitely among the very best German IPAs I have tried. Great job! The place itself is also nice. Beergarten is pretty big and is the obvious choice for summer. 100% returning when in the area - one of the best places in this area!!! ***** Update 2017. Was happy to return here. This time I optimized my beer drinking experience by staying in their hotel - so I was in no hurry :-))) New this year - Imperial IPA - killer!!!“

“Visited 12/8/2015, when I walked from Oberhaid station. Very busy on a weekday lunchtime. The beers on offer were enjoyable, the pasta dish eaten tasty and company friendly - the German I sat with managed to cope with my mangling of their language. Worth the trip out from Bamberg.“

“Large traditional beer house along the main road through Viereth. Antlers and farm implements and steinkrugs for decoration. The offer the Mainlust Marzen from CO2 and the Viereth beers from bottle, include the zesty Zwicklpils.“

“Relatively large family farm brewery with a small modern tasting room and a wide biergarten shaded by old trees full of birds. Selection is half draft and half bottles, which include their new Weizenbock and Rauchbock, available to go for the same price. Herr Kundmüller found me on the patio and started a conversation that led to a peek at the boilers and fermenters and underground lagering facility. I tried the Pils, Kellerbier and Lagerbier from tap and they were better than the DMS dirty bottles of 2013-2014, but not at 4.0-level like we found with Weiherer in 2011-2012“

“Surprisingly, not so good as other local breweries (or maybe I just got a bit tired there). Just 1 brew.“

“Wirklich herzliches, familiengeführtes Lokal mit üppigem, gutem Essen zum kleinen Preis. Im Sommer mit Biergarten, Kinderspielplatz, eigenen Parkplätzen, wenn auch nicht einfach zu finden. Geheimtipp, aber oft auch (zu Recht) sehr voll.“

“Gasthof and brewery in a hamlet called Weiher on a slope south of Trunstadt; a quite modern - by franconian standards - pub and a smaller shady patio in front of it ( plus a shadowless beergarden in a backyard) are surely worth a detour; friendly service, simple franconian meals and a quite large selection of their own beers…“

“Nice pub/restaurant/brewery on a hillside in the village of Weiher. Pretty large place, lots of outside and inside seating, and one of the only places I’ve seen with several different beers on tap (they make several keller/landbier variations). Typical German grub as food. Service was given by a young woman that spoke good english and was very helpful. Prices were on par. Good scenery as well, and they even have a small farm as a neighbor that was selling fresh produce, which we profited from as well. Good spot.“

“Best beer-stop in the area bar none. Usually 3 or 4 excellent beers on tap - we were offered Keller, Lager and Urstoffla (dunkel), all at $2 a half. Excellent comfort food, also well priced, Friendly service - be aware you order and collect beer/food yourself from inside thoug! A big sprawling biergarten, with a big playground for the kids plus assorted animals - guinea pigs, goats, horses - to greet and feed.“

“Ok place by the main road. Lots of people are stopping here since the bicycle route along the Main river is going through Viereth. I had a Dunkles Marzen, which did not appeal much to me. (Visited April 28th 2012)“

“Visited March 2012. I had a beer inside and then one outside in the garden. The bar/restaurant must have been fixed up since Beershine’s visit as it is now very clean and pleasant. The front garden is by the stables and there is also pens with hogs and guinea pigs. This would be a good place to bring your kids. There are also pleasant views of the village and area from the garden. Everyone seemed to have a hard time getting the barpersons attention as she was out in the kitchen seemingly out of earshot. I tried two draught beers: the Lager and the Rauch. Both were good, especially the lightly smoky Rauch. No buses, but it is in pleasant countryside so walking or biking is possible. Update July 2013. Ate this time and it was good. Out back there is a huge play area for children. The beer was again very good especially the Ur-Stoffla.“

“Visited March 2012. Busy modernised restaurant/pub on the main road. It was full of lunchtime diners when I was here although I didn’t eat. I’m not sure exactly what beer I had but it seemed to be the Dunkles Marzen judging from the colour. It was fairly hoppy and dry with some malt and caramel, quite good. There is a regional bus that goes from the Markusplatz in Bamberg.“

“Several, smaller casual rooms and a larger, partly covered, patio besides the Gasthaus; when You sit too close to the main road, it could get noisy.... Two - quite mediocre - beers on tap and one Zwickel in bottles. Not worth a visit if You are in a hurry........“

“Has two beer gardens, one out front and one in the back. The indoors is rather grotty but the gardens are wonderful. The one out front smells pungently like farm, so is not great for beer tasting. The back garden is where it’s at, with a view of the surrounding hills. Could sit there all day. Has a large playground away from the tables. We brought our own lunch, which is good because the food was only out of the fryer, did not look good at all. They have a rauchbier and their lagerbier is excellent, one of my favorites from this region and I can’t wait to go back...I also owe them for a round.“

“Quiet brewpub-guesthouse in the tiny village of Weiher. Also beer is sold to take away. Lovely patio. Good place to grab a beer or two after a long walk or cycling tour.“
