88 /100 Omnipollos Hamburg (Bar) KAMPSTR 36 With too heavy shopping bags from Beyond Beer we needed a break on our way back to the hotel and some cold beers! Short visit? Hell no! Great beers on tap and in bottles in the fridge. Very friendly service. We even ended up participate in a private beer tasting hosted by three superfriendly Untappd beer geeks. A really nice experience. I rember two names: Henning and Max. Cheers! (Visited March 1st 2023 with Untappd Eirik) |
96 /100 Beyond Beer (Beer Store) WEIDENALLEE 55 Top notch beer store with five beers on tap. The Kernel tap takeover when we visited. Very friendly and knowledgeable service provided by a young man whose name I do not remember. We really enjoyed our long stay! Impressive beer selection from Germany, Belgium and even a shelve with beers from Lervig and some from Salikatt, both local breweries for us. Again, we were too heavily loaded with bottles and cans when we left. Slightly drunken bastards doing cerious exercise along the streets in Hamburg! A place I for sure would like to revisit some time in the future. (Visited March 1st 2023 with Untappd Eirik) |
74 /100 DETLEV-BREMER-STRASSE 49 First rating for this place? Hello, any place raters left on RateBeer? Centrally located near Reeperbahn. Patio in front and a cozy bar inside. Friendly service and decent selection from The Baby Goat. Beer quality is between decent and mediocre. Still, for me it is always worth visiting a tap room. St. Pauli and Reeperbahn has certainly changed to the better since I Visited first time back in 1989 as a teenager! (Visited March 1st 2023 with Untappd Eirik) |
62 /100 REEPERBAHN 1 A typical BrewDog bar. Spacious bar with lots of seating. Decent tap selection but rather boring guest beers at our visit. In my opinion, the tap list is not very informative about the difference between BrewDog and BrewDog (Berlin) When we ordered a flight and should pick our beers, we had to use the beer name, not the number on the tap list. Strange. A waiter found at table for us and brought our flights, but we later paid our bill to another waiter that came to our table when we were ready to go. This led to short-term trouble when we left. A bit embarrasing for us. Worth a visit when in Hamburg but not a very memorable experience. (Visited March 1st 2023 with Untappd Eirik) |
94 /100 Braustättchen am Fischmarkt (Beer Store) FISCHMARKT 17 What a great beer experience! Top notch service provided by Christian Temme. Our visit here turned out to be much longer than planned. Good selection craft beer from Hamburg and Germany. An own shelve with breweries from Franken. Also many fresh hoppy German beers. Tidy and well organized beer store. 4 beers on tap from these breweries: Cool Cats In Town, Hummel, Weiherer and Penninsula. We were heavy loaded with bottles and cans when we left. I asked for Eisbock and he "surprisingly found" some bottles in the cellar. Great service! This beer store is a must visit for both beer tourists and locals in Hamburg. 62 /100 LANDUNGSBRÜCKEN 3 Low ratings for this place, mostly for tourists and only two draught beers. Well, we knew that. Still, there are not many craft beer bars or breweries in Hamburg that opens before 5 or 6 o'clock in the afternoon. Therefore, this was our first beer stop early a Wednesday in February. Service was top notch and we enjoyed their classic but simple dinner and a clean and fresh Blockbrau Helles. Very nice harbour view from the roof top terrace, that was empty this sunny but cold day. We were recommended by our waiter to take the lift up to see their patio and the view. I guess this place can be too crowded during summertime. Well worth visit for newbies in town. 70 /100 Edeka Rindermarkthalle (Grocery Store) NEUER KAMP 31 Rindmarkthalle was near our hotel and a very convenient place to purchase local craft beer to bring home. Good selection from Hamburg breweries and more than decent selection from Bavaria. Foreign beers were not too exciting, but we were surprised to see several from Lervig in Norway. By the way, good selection Norwegian cheese too! My best buy was a six pack Hamburger Senatsbock for 16.99 Euro. Well worth a visit for tourists. 68 /100 Galopper des Jahres (Bar) SCHULTERBLATT 73 Our last visit this Tuesday evening. Very cowded and mostly younger crowd. Decent tap list. We shared some beers from Sudden Death, Superfreunde and Yankee & Kraut. Efficient service in the bar. We sat outside on the covered patio. (Visited February 28th 2023 with Untappd Eirik) |
88 /100 Craft Bier Bar Hamburg (Bar) MAX-BRAUER-ALLEE 275 The most extensive tap list in Hamburg! A real craft beer bar. Varied seating at different levels. We sat really high with a view of the bar and the digital tap list. Nice view for beer geeks. This bar have some "own" beers named Leni, Leya and Lumi brewed for them by Wittorfer Brauerei. We found a can "Leni" in the fridge but did not bother to check out the rest of the bottled selection, we had more than enough to chose from on tap. We enjoyed our stay! (Visited February 28th 2023 with Untappd Eirik) |
80 /100 MAX-BRAUER-ALLEE 88 A cozy small bar and very friendly service provided by the brewer himself. Cafe style, tiles on parts of the walls and the bar counter. Seven beers on tap at our visit. The beers brewed on the premises has changed name from Shanghait to Malto Brewpub. The former name was to difficult for customers according to the brewer. The Malto beers on tap was at best mediocre, the beer gems are among the big bottles in the fridge. We shared a bottle from Popihn and Casey Brewing and Blending, both recommended to us. Great beers! Not crowded at all this Tuesday evening, that was ok for us. We felt like WIP customers. (Visited February 28th 2023 with Untappd Eirik) |
62 /100 Craft Beer Rockstars Bierbühne Hamburg (Beer Store) HUDTWALCKERSTRASSE 22 Our first beer visit in Hamburg. Visited by car before arriving to our hotel in Feldstrasse. Friendly service and a couple of beers on tap. The bottled and canned selection was a bit disappointing. Since this was our first stop, we certainly found many new beers but the shelves were half empty. Some weeks later we found out that this place has now closed down. (Visited February 28th 2023 with Untappd Eirik) |
66 /100 FISCHMARKT 28-32 Quirky place on the Elbe. Stopped lateish on a tuesday for a few pretty good beers, got good service. Echoing Marduk's recommendation to avoid Balduinstrasse, business going on there - albeit not in a threatening way. |
72 /100 LAGERSTRASSE 28B Big, elegant brauhaus with a full range of Ratsheern beer + guests and well made traditional German food. |
84 /100 Bar Oorlam (Bar) KOHLHÖFEN 29 It's kind of pain to get here. I found the best option would be via metro (Stadsbrücke) and then some walking. I wasn't mistaken. Cunt board (aka scooter) is another option. Apartment type of pub. Lots of taps, mainly Buddelship, but few their collabos as well.
Staff spoke very good English. They probably had some sort of party last night 'cause they didn't look fresh at all. So they were repairing themselves. Knowledgeable staff, who knows what to recommend. Since I was buying take away beers and probably they liked me I got complimentary beer to go. Thank you very much. Worth a visit in Hamburg. |
62 /100 KIRCHENALLEE 57 A traditional German pub near Hamburg central train station. Sunny sunday afternoon and it was buzzing. Quite fast staff and very good English spoken. I had shnitzel here as well which wasn't anything special, fried potatoes were bit too greasy for me. Meat part was ok. Their own beer was ok Schwarzbier. |
84 /100 REEPERBAHN 1 I have only positive words to say about this place. Large with nice stair type of seats in one corner. Clean, music not too loud, good selection. English very well spoken. Typical BD prices. |
48 /100 LANDUNGSBRÜCKEN 3 You know it's a classy place when in front of the door you have people who can't stand up but yet doorman let's them in. Noisy place and very busy on Saturday evening. English spoken somewhat. Only 2 beers on tap. Service is quick and friendly. Maibock was good. |
60 /100 FISCHMARKT 28-32 Whatever your map app suggests don't take your way from Reeperbahn station via Balduinstrasse. It's full of gangs trying to sell you something. Very unsafe.
Place itself is buzzing. No flights cause they are out of 1. Common sense would suggest that you replace it with something other, but they lack it here. I think on quiet night it might be ok place to visit. |
50 /100 ADOLPHSBRÜCKE 7 Not very hard to find. View to the canal. They don't do beer flights, although they said it after I ordered food. Only 3 beer on tap and no seasonals. Food was overpriced and medicore. |
74 /100 BierSelect.de (Internet-based) KAPSTADTRING 10 Nice webshop for German beers. No too many beers but pretty decent with a slightly changing product range. Quick delivery, reasonable rates. |
68 /100 PLATZ DER DEUTSCHEN EINHEIT 3 Taproom inside the Elbphilharmonie with a nice view out over the harbor. Slightly pricy, but it is possible to get flights as well to get all your Störtebeker ticks. Serves decent light meals as well. |
40 /100 KIRCHENALLEE 57 Pub near Bahnhof. SOme regular German beers and one own brew, Nagel-Bräu, a poor Schwarzbier. (6-4-2019). |
64 /100 Kyti Voo (Bar) LANGE REIHE 82 Modern cocktail bar. Possibility to have a tasting. Some local and American beers on tap. Nice for a visit when in Hamburg. (5-4-2019). |
54 /100 LANDUNGSBRÜCKEN 3 Large, nice view over the water, crowded. Limited own brews. More a place to eat and for tourists. Not worth visiting when you're having a beer trip. (6-4-2019). |
74 /100 LAGERSTRASSE 28B Visited a few times. Mostly times for a pitstop, when we drive up or down the A7 highway on beer travels. |
78 /100 LAGERSTRASSE 28B Visited a few times in the past.. great food and friendly service.. beershop nearby with a lovely selection.
When lock down is over going back for a beer and a burger.. |
80 /100 Beyond Beer – Online Shop (Internet-based) WEIDENALLEE 53–55 Made an order here to satisfy my thirst for Lagers after getting burned out on NEIPA. But don't worry, this webshop offers plenty of craft beer as well. In fact, a large part of the selection constitutes the latest cans of hip hoppy goodness from Europe. Next time I order, I will probably mix it up some more. Free shipping to my country >100 EUR. Arrived as fast as can be expected. |
72 /100 Beyond Beer – Online Shop (Internet-based) WEIDENALLEE 53–55 Large selection and shipping is fast. (well, Hamburg is just around the corner) |
72 /100 LAGERSTRASSE 28B Very nice place at the Schanzenhöfe and close to the Craft Beer Store and the brewery. Sometime overcrowded and the service tooks its time. Selection of beers ist ok. Flight available. Nice to sit outside. |
84 /100 REEPERBAHN 1 BrewDog St. Pauli is located at the entrance of the Reeperbahn, Hamburg. Modern, industrial style with lots of cement, metal and neon-lights. 24 beers on tap, mostely BrewDog, but also some very interesting guest beers. Nice selection of bottles and cas, too. Burgers are very good, prices fair. Smart staff. I like it! |
46 /100 KIRCHENALLEE 57 A brewpub just across the street from the Hamburg Hbf, with 1 own beer on tap, plus other commercial ones. The ambiance it's like an old pub style. Service is good and food is OK. |
84 /100 Bar Oorlam (Bar) KOHLHÖFEN 29 Craftbeer Bar von Buddelship. Es gibt 15 taps. Fast alle Buddelship, auch einige Specials. Dazu tolle Guest taps, etwas von Dois Corvos. Muss man mal hin gehen.
Im Lauf der Jahre immer spannendere Biere. Gibt von mir Nachschlag. |
86 /100 Beyond Beer (Beer Store) WEIDENALLEE 55 **Review is for the Webshop**
Really impressed with Beyond Beer. I ordered my beers at 17:59 on Wednesday 29th July and the beer was delivered on Friday 31st July in the morning. It was well packaged and everything was in order, really impressed with them. The website, choice and prices are good, ok I have seen better in each of these particular areas but it works and it works very well. I had 10% voucher sent to me for subscribing to their newsletter which helped, in fact I have nothing negative to say and I will certainly be ordering from them again. |
86 /100 Beyond Beer – Online Shop (Internet-based) WEIDENALLEE 53–55 Probably one of the best online shops for top class crafts in Germany. Great selection, even better than in the physical store. Great selection, standard prices. Free shipping from 69 EUR and below shipping fees in Germany 6,90 EUR. |
90 /100 Beyond Beer (Beer Store) WEIDENALLEE 55 Visited today 25 June 2020. Minimalistic and clean. Parking difficult but possible. Great selection of world class crafts, standard German crafts, Belgians. Reasonable prices. Nice staff. You will not leave with empty hands for sure! |
42 /100 The British Pub (Bar) GOERNESTRASSE 19 Surprising local pub. This is a truly traditional Hamburg Pub, which shows most of the local football games and has a tremendous atmosphere and surprisingly good food. Nothing for the anyone expecting more than a divey local pub for a beer and a great housemans food. |
100 /100 ALSTERDORFER STR. 267 A rustic bar, where the finest, home-made beers are served. The brewery is hidden in a backyard in Alsterdorf, from the outside it is very inconspicuous, so you can easily walk past it! Inside it is very authentic with the nano stainless steel brew kit easily located and a few bench style pine tables and chairs plus really great beer served in a friendly welcoming atmosphere. There are 10 different varieties on tap, all costing only €3 for 0,3l glass of probably one of the best beers in Hamburg? No food available, but salt sticks are available on the tables for free. Tasting is encouraged and makes it more enjoyable to get involved in the varietie of styles and tastes. The owner/brew dude and staff are great folks and really make you welcome. |
54 /100 ADOLPHSBRÜCKE 7 A large modern riverside brewpub and resturant. Normally there are 4 beers available 3 regulars and a seasonal. There are four coppers that are nice and shiny in a central location and there is also some old brewery equipment in corners that is quite intresting. This is a great place to eat, their Schweinshaxe is the best in Hamburg? Also their Schnitzel is very tasty, so don't miss it (with a beer or two!). Their portion are big in the evening, but if you go for lunch, you can enjoy a smaller portion of Schnitzel at a cheaper price. It's very crowded in the evening so recomend booking to avoid disapointment. The staff are friendly, but there are not many, so it can take some time to be served. The atmosphere is casual and definitely worth visiting if in the area, as a very good place to see experience German food and people |
82 /100 KURDAMM 24 What a nice place for craft beer. A unique tap room in the brewery, not crowded and and a chilled out atmosphere, in a classic industrial building of the pre-war period on the beautiful Wilhelmsburger island park. A bit of interesting taproom history, sitting in a water basin with 30cm thick walls of solid steel (with breakthroughs), which at times when the building was an extension of the waterworks next door, the ventilation of freshly pumped groundwater was used to remove the carbon dioxide contained. It's a cozy place to be, as a couple or in a group of friends. There is always a good selection of their own micro-brewery beers changing guest beers from other craft breweries. The brew dude's are really friendly and helpful and will even share their recipies! Did I mention that there is delicious food to go with the bier's, for example homemade ramen, at very affordable prices. A must do place to visit on a Thursday or Friday when in Wilhelmsburg. |
46 /100 Kyti Voo (Bar) LANGE REIHE 82 A modern hipster cocktail bar in a very trendy location, that has an outside seating area. They have six craft beer taps with the occasional hard to find scoop. Overall a good place for getting a drink in a chill environment with nice staff and cosy atmosphere. |
90 /100 Craft Bier Bar Hamburg (Bar) MAX-BRAUER-ALLEE 275 An excellent craft beer bar located close to Sternschanze. They boast more than 30 beers on tap 😍 (4 taps for self-service) and additional bottles and cans as well. They have a nice mix of German and import beers and the prices are reasonable. There is a range of beers for beginners and really fine stuff for the real beer geeks! The bar is bright and long with the beers on an illuminated board at the back. There are lots of rugs scattered about the floor and an eclectic mix of seating ranging from tall stools the cosy leather high back chairs although not many places to sit because of the funky interior and the ordering process takes a bit too long during peak hours? But this is a really awesome spot with cool music. It's awesome that the craft beer scene is evolving in Hamburg to support breweries outside of Hamburg! Note it is a cash only bar? Probably the best craft bar in the city. |
80 /100 Omnipollos Hamburg (Bar) KAMPSTR 36 The taproom for Omnipollo (the fanciest gipsy brewery from Sweden) in Hamburg, a bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. They have 14 taps serving there own and rare guest beers they also do the famed beer smoothie's! (Beware it's very expensive!) It's very colourful, if you like pink 👍 with a atmosphere that is unique, it has a neon lighting style that is interesting to explore the bar in? They only accept card payment which is easy and fast. Tap water is for free. The pizzas are great, even with the unusual toppings. The tap list is like heaven for every craft beer nerd, plus a bartender who is really passionate and does not hesitate to let you try a beer first. Overall: Great beer, great pizza, great people, Pink and expensive. |
