Trinkgut Knödgen (Beer Store)
CASTROPER STRASSE 124
“A "regular" Trinkgut outlet, nothing special... Sometimes the rare brews from the local "Vest" brew-project (beers made in NL at "Huttenkloas") are available here, that's the only reason IMHO for a visit, if You are not keen on dusty Fuller's beers from the shelves!“

“More or less a typical trinkgut with the usual selection, not even some "local stuff" available. However, more or less all Düsseldorf Altbiers are available. Moreover, they have a small shelf with craft beer you wouldn't find in many bottle stores in this part of Germany, especially when you see that many stores actually reduce their craft beer offerings due to a lack of demand. Beers from Poppels, Midtfyns, Onkel or Fuller's can be found, although many of them aren't that fresh anymore. All in all nothing crazy, but still better than most of the trinkgut stores I know. Worth checking out if you're around but nothing I would go out of my way for.“

“Rather large Brauhaus in the city centre. Quite modern, not a traditional one, still relatively cosy and narrow. Wasn't overly crowded during an early Friday evening. Four beers on tap during my visit with three standard ones (Hell, Dunkel and Märzen) and a special (Karnevalsbier). I was able to order all four beers in 0.1 l although usually only Hell and Dunkel are served in a "Stößchen". Quality of the beer is solid, prices are quite good. Didn't try the food, the menu was not your typical Brauhaus fare but also nothing extra-ordinary either. Staff were friendly and helpful, all four beers have been served one after another without too much waiting time. Nice place, might come back for the seasonals if I'm around.“

“Visited on Friday 11th December 2015. Modern looking venue with large garden. Nice feel to the place, service was good, beer selection was decent with 4 beers available. Plenty of seating, lots of high tables to sit at. Now I’ve been I wouldn’t rush back as tried most of the beer.“

“Visited late January 2014. Selection exceeded expectations as they had 4 of their own on tap : Zwickel Urtrub (unfiltered hell), Spezial Dunkles, Pils (filtered and tastier than the zwickel!!) and best of all a Winter Bier at 4.8% so not a doppelbock unfortunately. The latter was dark brown and although tasted strong was quite smooth. Huge portions of good food were enjoyed on my visit. Service was excellent though it was fairly quiet!“

“Nice brewpub in the city of Recklinghausen. The selection is rather low -only three own beers and two Franziskaner- but the atmosphere and staff is really nice. Modern-comfy interior, it is very cozy. Staff is really child-friendly, quick and hearty. The food is okay, the selection is rather low but therefore you get mostly local specialities at a moderate price which are cooked really tasty. Nice one.“
