Pirna Beer Guide: Your Pirna guide to beer, beer bars, breweries and brewpubs

Latest reviews from Pirna

“Visited 16.10.17 in the morning, on our way to Sonnenstein Castle. A beautiful brewpub with plenty of seating options inside and outside. Downstairs bar section was closed when we got there but the restaurant upstairs is vast, sunny, with a lovely view. Beer's decent, service is good, food is quite unfriendly for vegans. Worth the stop.“

“Visited with the wife on the evening of 11th March 2017. Sat outside in the fairly large Biergarden. Inside there is a drinking room and above a well appointed restaurant which also allows ’drinking only’ customers. Beers fine, all unfiltered, staff fine and the food very good. Good vibe to the whole set up and we had a pleasant night there during our 40th Wedding Anniversary tour.“

“A short walk from the town center, sporting a bar downstairs (that was closed in the early afternoon) and a large restaurant on the first floor. Small tables, beery utensils, the brewery centrally located just behind the bar. Save for the EDM music it had a traditional flair. Waiting was ok, prices were ok. The food turned out to be of good value and very good quality. My half pork knuckle was actually as big as a whole pork knuckle in other restaurants. The beers (4 taps as of now) weren’t bad, with their pils standing out among the crowd. Pirna itself is worth a visit, so it would be quite unfathomable not to pop in at their brewery to get some ticks.“

“Located in the outskirts of the charming Pirna, this cozy, spacious venue is essentially a restaurant with a big patio. The selection includes own produce, just three taps. The staff are very friendly and they seem to know something about the beer they sell, which is a good thing. The food is okay, I had some Wurst-Käse-Salat, which was palatable but not anything mindblowing. Didn’t try any main course as I was too early for that. Reasonable prices. Worth a visit if you are in the area but do not expect miracles.“

“This is a large brewpub (founded in 1997) near the historic town centre of Pirna. Massive wooden tables and chairs around the copper brewing vessels. They usually have 3 beers on tap: Bastei-Pilsener, Giesser-Dunkel and one seasonal, either a smoked or a Bock, both of which unfortunately were not available during my visit. The food is very well prepared and of high quality. The menu features standard dishes like Schnitzel with french-fries as well as hearty Saxonian specialities and deer dishes.“
